Update 24: Champions... "whew, it's ok, it's only a red name" .. sad day when trash spawn Champions and their one-shot ignore fort attacks instill more party fear than the Red named bosses.
Burden hand nothing to do with the ML being raised and everything to do with the exploiters wearing epic items.
The way burden works is you get it if your wearing an item with a higher ML than your character its just a side effect of turbines fix to the exploit that happens to effect your crafted items.
if you have not removed your gear which had the ML raised then your not so innocent.
Remove the offending gear and go about your day.
"Randomly-generated treasure items have been improved to better scale up to player power at all levels of play. These changes only affect new items, and are not retroactive."
Which would have led one to believe that changes were not, well, retroactive.
More importantly, when making retroactive changes, treating people who forgot to take off this "uber" item (no, not talking about people using epic items in heroic levels, just the normal nerfed items) as cheaters is just bad form. Another bad treatment of long time paying customers by Turbine. I mean, really, treating someone like they are cheating because they have an item on which was until very recently WAI?
Make the item unequip itself? Sure. They had deemed it OP (I disagree, but it was their call to make) and so it should be taken off. But don't treat innocent players like exploiters.
<seemingly offensive Army of Darkness quote>
I like this. Sums up turbine pretty well!.
"Even worse, some developer spent time on this. Instead of fixing the stupid scroll-wheel bug that annoys my Gamer Girl every single time she plays the game, no let’s not fix that, let’s invest time into coding a way to punish"
