Thanks for the update...
Now I am definitely sorry but I have to answer in details.
I'm still chocking over the Enhancement Crash that forced us to waste hours into trying to rebuild our characters to what we were. It also drove many people out, as they just couldn't be bothered into trying to rebuild their 7 year old characters.
Epic Reincarnation was a failure since it's inception, and since you never reneged to the BTC of the CoV it's just yet another useless system change.
Maban was just worse than usual with Dragon instances that just froze until failure and keys that were eaten by the system. We have been saying for years now that a 24 people instance is just stupid. Change the thing, make it a 12 people RAID instance ( like any raid, or like the Cove Quest ) and be done with it. Oh and since we go to LVL 28 LVL 28 Items should be available... That's also valid for the Cove.
Explorer areas are nice... Once... And even then Seizure Inducing flashes are BAD ( hint : Wheloon ). Stormhorn while being a nice area has zero replayability. Spend more time putting quests behind doors in the Market and the Harbor than making huge areas that will be used once.
LootGen Ghostbaning and Feathering. Just give us back our pre-Update 19 lootgen, and then you can start working on upgrading it.
As for the duping and the few other exploits that have riddled this year they are probably the most interesting thing that happened in game this year.
( Yeah, I know all about spaghetti code... Do you know that you have DAT Files ( like say client_****.dat ) that has in some cases for a given 'instance' several addresses that refer to several ( different ) scripts ? It's a wonder one gets fired at all... )
You know it's already in the game files, we know it's already in the game files, it just needs to be updated to today's system ( no Seal/Scroll/Shard/Item ) and without much effort you'd give us a raid that has kept us busy for years as Endgame content and would make us happy for months ( and yes we would farm it to death, we have already done it )
That's how DDO has always been advertized: you don't have to spend time running to adventures, in DDO there's a quest behind every door, so just open a door and go adventuring.
Also finish the storylines that were started but never finished ( see The Twelve Planescaller for the two unusable destinations he offers for example )
Otherwise, Just finish the half made things, even the Failed ones from this year ( since we are no forced to live with them ).
These two are in the most wanted list.
- Stop messing with systems. New is not Better.
-Ingame Support is a failure, GMs tells you one of the following :
* It's a new bug, fill in a bug report
* it's not a new bug fill in a bug report
You just give up.
CS is ******, and if I was performing that way with my customers I would have a nice chat with HR about being fired with extreme prejudice.
I stopped asking for In Game Support when it took them one hour to get me unstuck from a stuck spot ( after the /stuck command failed ) and they didn't even know where to teleport me to when all my party was waiting a few feet
beside my stuck spot.
- Bags, I really would like to have UNBOUND or BTA Bags for each and every kind of thing you have : Scroll Case, Potion Coffer, Spell Component Pouch, Greensteel Ingredient Bag, Cannith Crafting Coffer, Challenge Components Case, Trap Parts Box, and so on... One Bag for each specific crafting and not one bag to fit them all.
- Raids, Raids, Raids, Raids.
Raids that actually have a sense, not mindless things like Pain in the Navel ( Aka Caught in the Web ) where you are just a headless chicken and run around bashing at things until it's completed.
Take a look at the old raids like Vault of Night 5 and 6, Twillight Forge and Titan Awakes, Tempest Spine where there's a variety of things to do, and a lot of choices about how and when to do them.
( Ok, Pikers Fate [ Aka Reavers Fate ] and Piker's Fate Round 2 [ aka Fall of Truth ] are special it's just a one room fight, that's also good in a sense )
LoB and MA are also nice, what is annoying is that it takes ages to reach them... if they were reachable straight from House Cannith they would be run more often.
- Replacing the old Seal/Scroll/Shard/Item from the old Epic Quests with the new Tiered Normal/Hard/Elite system in a way that does not make us rage.
For me that will involve having the two systems ( old and new ) active at the same time for several months, it will also involve getting NPCs to exchange all those Seal/Scroll/Shards to things we want.
It also involve upgrading the items ( read : making them better, not Ghostbaning them ). I posted a detailed explanation of what you could do about that in another thread...
Thread locking without any comment, no Dev information, laconic phrases from community un-relation when there's a problem is not communication.
Yes you'll get flack along the way, especially in the begining, but in the long run you'll get the feeling of what we want for the game and we will trust you for not messing it up.
Right now, since there's no communication, there's absolutely no trust.
- No more half cooked thing.
- No more removing something before the new, improved thing has been put in place.
That would get rids of things like Ghostbane.
It's also valid for things like TRs and Enhancement Crash... Was it that impossible to have both systems in game for a few month so that we learned about it while having the comfort of the old systems ?
