    Default Every 20th raid completion should reward a raider's box.

    Seriously. Isn't the entire purpose of achieving a 20th raid reward based on getting a raid item that you did not get after 20 runs? It would save both the developers and players a lot of time and hassle if they simply made a raider's box tailored for each specific raid so that you REALLY can choose a item that you didn't get on your 20th run. It's that simple. Running a raid more than 20 times for ONE item is too extreme, in my opinion. Think about this, folks. It's totally worth putting in the game for each raid on a timer.

    seeing as 20th isn't supposed to be a guarantee of the item you want, just a much higher chance, then i don't think they will buy it

    now what if we asked for this at a higher number of runs? would they say no if we asked for it after 100 runs? would they accept a lower number?

    This would bring down the value of items to much, and all of the items would become WAY to easy to get :P

    Not a raiders box, just put the whole drop list of gear on each 20th and we're good.

    (Lots of folks have been begging for full 20th lists for a long time now, myself included.)

    20th List's should have 4 items. A raider's style box that will let you choose whatever item from that raid you want. A tome like the ones from mabar that allow you to select whichever stat you want (Doesn't have to be +5 could be whatever + is appropriate for the raid). A tome like the ones from per-ordering the expansion that let you choose whatever skill you want (+ again dependent on raid). Finally a large amount of guild renown in case someone doesn't want/need any of the other things.

    I know that people in this thread are worried about items becoming too common or the grind on old raids getting too big. That said I'm hoping that the old raids are going to be less compelling anyways (ie the new raids/quests will eclipse the existing gear) so what harm would there be in giving some of the mid-level and early epic level items with a bit more frequency once they're no longer the end game?

    so what? at your 20th you get what you want and never run the raid again?

    They offer you a hand but you want the whole arm as usual by the DDO community.

    I think the raiders box is a bad idea completely. CITW drop rates need a big boost, it's a MMO, what's the point on having free stuff.

    A guarantee for every 20 completions to list items that drop from the raids? That's one way to kill some raids off quicker than can be done now.

    With reincarnation being introduced to DDO a few years ago, those who plan in the long term will have plenty of incentives to run a raid for more than just 1 item. Hell, if they get lucky, they might even get a item they desire before their 20th run.

    Besides, raids should have more than loot incentives. XP and fun are other things to add in as well, and without those, raids are being done wrong. Which they are, by the way. Im not too fond of running raids just for loot. Plus, another incentive with raiders boxes is that if your not sure what you want, you can keep it and think about it for a longer time.

    If Turbine went this route, I could see them putting a bit of a spin on it...

    Each 20th completion RR Box would include one third of the raid's items, most likely the ones with the highest drop rates. You could then buy Raider's Reward Upgrades in the Store to flesh out the box's available items from the raid's list. Oh, and each raid would have it's own upgrades, so if you wanted to upgrade a VoN box but bought a DQ box by mistake - well, then you'd just be out the points.




    That said, I'm not a huge fan of the idea in general. If implemented, I wouldn't complain - but I'd also not pine for the idea if it isn't.

    not a fan of this idea. but then running Demon queen 60 times and not getting a torc is frustrating. So maybe something in between?

    How about an increase for shards and seals? After 4 years of running Von 5/6 on a regular basis. I would have thought I would have seen more then 2 SOS shards drop in that time. I still have not pulled one myself.

    This seems just a little too much seeing how ppl can get a pile of raid timer bypasses and get 20 runs in a couple days. Maybe for the 40th completion? I agree though that drop rates in most raids are terrible.

    How many times have i heard "-cant wait to get my torc so i will never run this &%$# again".
    Dam my pale master is at over 80 Abbot completions and i still don't have the Circle of Hatred. Abbot is not fun anymore, but i do it sometimes to get that one item, it's the only way there is to keep the grind going.
    How can they incentive us to run content when there's nothing there to gain?

    Well, for one, they can only go so far. Not everyone can be pleased. That depends on the player. Two, they could certainly put more effort into it and try to make it more fun than frustrating. Sometimes I think those two words collide in their dictionary; fun = frustrating. Loot should only be 1/3 of what goes into a raid; another 1/3 is XP and the final 1/3 is fun (with a limit on the frustrating; raids should be challenging, but not like Abbot or Titan. I know quite a bit of people are like "Oh well I just gotta get this one raid item that's really hard to get and that'll be it for me," and what else is there to offer? They don't care about the XP, and they most likely already got the maximum favor for it, so what's the point? Raiders boxes will let that player have more fun in the game and allow them to focus on better things by offering the selection of one raid item out of all the items on the 20th run, giving them time to select if need be for future reincarnations.

    Increase drop rates a bit, multiply the XP.

    If Titan Awakes was worth like 60k XP, more people would buy the Restless Isles and run the raid.
