Default Simple Improvement to Low-level Trinkets

You know those Trinkets that are common at low level -- Moog's Ornament, etc. -- that give +1 Enhancement bonus to a stat? Practically speaking, their only use is to let low-level characters raise a stat from an odd number to even. It's not long before characters have access to +2 Enhancement items or even higher.

However, if these Trinkets used a "Equipment" bonus or "Competence" bonus, or whatever seems appropriate, they would stack with the very common Enhancement bonuses. Even a mid-level character -- who has access to more powerful trinkets -- might like the option to make a stat even.

For instance, a 10th-level wizard whose Health belt gives him an odd Con could use Rahkat's Spangle, thus giving him 10 more hit points, like a False Life item. (Which it also stacks with, sort of.) Or he could use Zizoo's Spangle instead, and get 19 more spell points, which sort of stacks with Power items. Y'see.

That would increse their usefulness a bit too much, since they are low level items. Adding an augmentslot on the otehr hand would be nice, even a colorless one.

    "Too much"? What's the downside?

I just dont think an item you usually get by level 4 should be useful for the entire game, which having the bonus stack with most things would likely cause. More use out of them would be nice, yes. But the change proposed would make tham a bit too useful with the current droprates.

Tomes scale up at about the same rate as you scale up your +stat gear...so tome+gear is always going to give you an even number at early and mid levels, that's what balances it out.

Unnecessary. Anyone can easily craft low level trinkets. You can buy a crafting blank from the DDO store or if you're a TR, use a Shard of Power form the Shroud.

They could make them Insightful +1 and have them be a sort of tutorial on the stacking nature of stat items.
