    Default Melee druid build

I am finding my caster druid not as exciting as I had originally hoped(really too much like my wizard, honestly) so I'd like to retool him into some sort of unstopable melee juggernaut. With the notable exception of being a halfling...

Anyway, I've got the +20 heart still so I can change the level makeup and multi-class as needed. I've also got a lovely collection of scimitars just in case.

I've found a 9/9/2 Druid/Monk/Cleric to be extremely effective. Run in Winter Wolf w/wraps for good melee dps, improved evasion and Smite Weakness. Swapping the 2 Cleric for 2 Fighter is a fair option for extra feats.
Now excuse me while I wander off to arm myself with Grilled Cheese Sandwiches and hunker down behind my Armored Beer Refrigerator, while I have the UFO's take control of the Congresional Wives with the help of the International Cocaine Smugglers and the Evil Geniuses for a Better Tomorrow - btw, do you have change for 10 million population?

    Yup, strong build.

    Other strong wolf builds:

    Flavor enhancements to taste.

9druid/6ranger/5 monk (switch out of form for manyshot)
11druid/6barb/3cleric (Frenzied(not raged) supreme cleave, ravager crit range, smite weakness)
9druid/8fighter/3monk(unarmed kensai, ton of feats, tank/higher manystrike option with shield equipped)

I could extend this by another 20 or so builds, there a a ton of great multiclass wolf options right now, attack speed combos are king for melee under the current enhancement system.

Mixing artificer with wolf is a lot of fun, some of the high level repeaters in the game have some interesting effects with wolf attack speed, however a lot of the buffs don't stack with druid buffs.

I know that weapon's treasure effects apply to druid attacks, but what happens if you equip a weapon you're not proficient with? Will that be negated? You're only getting the treasure effects and it's a kind of unarmed attack.

So could I equip a Doublecross Bow and put things to sleep without the repeater proficiency?

    Default yup

Nearly all the special abilities of doublecross(and other ranged weapons(even special thrown weaps)) work in beast forms, the only exception being things that change damage type like blunted ammunition or weapons that change damage mod stat, eg, even when using doublecross your damage and attack mod will come from strength.

However, if you arent proficient youll miss a lot and therefore get a lot less procs.

Doublecross even works well on ee in wolf mode, despite the massive saves the mobs have they still fail saves on a one roll, so if you build for attack speed/multistrike you can make them fail a save every few seconds. Wolves are surprising ccwise if equiped right.

15/5 druid/rogue.....TA stickfighter with Shillelagh, Elemental form, and L8 spells (Heal), plus Evasion and trapping (if you have 36 pts and INT tomes already)

Pair it with LD in Epic (TA cleave clears LD cleave cooldowns).

Using this build regularly in ee questing can take almost any role was for example the blitzer in ee tor last night but changed to fury for dragons and can solo heal raids if needed.

    Feats:

    Ranger: Bow Strength
    Power Attack
    Point Blank Shot
    Cleave
    Great Cleave
    Improved Critical: Slashing or Bludgeoning
    Improved Critical: Ranged
    Rapid Shot
    Manyshot
    Quicken
    Empower Healing
    21: Overwhelming Critical
    24: Zen archery
    26: Toughness
27: need to LR to fix this 1 considering many feats...
    28: PTWF

Note: can also quest in shiradi for cc.

Had maximize but it is really wasted and you usually end up potting.

A little tip for a splashed Druid a 3 piece Epic Abishai set with mantle, water stance, yugo pot, solid fog and icestorm (icestorm debuffs with mantle) made Earthquake usable until ee gh.

Not too bad, metamagics then, personally id drop toughness and zen archery for max/emp, cant imagine you have super high wis, why zen archery? I mean no offense, just im guessing high str since bow strength and 2hw, and high enough dex for manyshot, so wisdom isn't gonna be maxed, with no emp and max likely didn't go max wis for casting dc.

Toughness isn't bad of course, but don't know if its better than the option to max/emp spells for shiradi procs.

I still think in terms of 20 levels when it comes to feats sometimes, less feat starved than I guessed.

Depends on your objectives. For leveling and EH (even a couple EE quests) I found that 18 druid 2 monk str based was a simple, but efficient build (wolf then winter wolf form). I know some more splashed builds can be more efficient but I wanted a good sight on druid spells and if much aren't that good, some special attacks and combos are awesum. With a frozen tunic u get decent ice storms and cold breathes. With a devotion item (i used gauntlets of eternity while leveling) u get very nice regenerate. With a stunning handwraps (vampiric, grave or random) you can stun everyone and then unleash all the sneak attack from wolf/ninja spy/Helf dillie on the poor helpless mobs.

Only thing saves were not very good ...
Aezechiel (Caster, 8th life) - Kakophonyc (Bard, 2nd life) - Larsenkarden (Cleric, 3rd life) - Lewela (Bard, 6th life) - Punkcanard (dual deathnip centered halfling tempest 3rd life) - Usuldur (Melee, completionist) - Sylentbob (ranger) ... and a couple of mules

Zen Archery is for A Dance of Flowers for a 1.5 W and yes it works with bows now also used to be a Sireth wielder.

Toughness is a 26 level feat can not take normal feats except Toughness...

Max/emp is really good for a pure druid not for a splashed 1.

I gotta disagree about max/emp not being great for splashed, or even highly multiclasses druids especially in shiradii, but yeah, 1.5w makes for some great burst damage with manyshot.

I went pure Druid, sword and board w/ emp Heal and some shield feats.

Mainly stay in Wolf form but move to Bear for tanking and he tanks very well.

I have to say, Druid has become my most enjoyable class to play, even over my Monk.

I have been playing the Vorpal Wolf and he is also rather fun but nowhere near as much fun as my Pure.

I also went pure having attempted the summoner approach to get the wolf pet to some semblance of usefulness. What I ended up with was pure caster based, but in wolf form with deadly and str slotted he still does a fair bit of melee damage. No melee feats, but some melee enhancements.

Works well, and after running Servants and Spinner last night with two different monk splashed druids and a monk splashed wiz, this toon was significantly better at dps than all three of the splashed toons.

The only downside is the slow cooldowns of the spells, but is mitigated by spamming lots of different spells and melee in between.

I'm considering taking the 5 tier enhancement that shortens cooldowns, but the heirophant capstone is better overall. Decisions, decisions...

I am current testing how well the T5 cooldown works for me and my playstyle.

Still on the fence about it as most of my casting in either from healing spells, Cold DoT, or 'quake.

Even thought I LOVE Wolf form I am quickly becoming a big fan of Bear.

Been getting a few of my Druid splash friends to go pure and they are loving it and are never going back.

I'm leaning in this direction myself.

I am currently leveling a 13 Druid/5 Rogue/2 Monk Shadar-kai Thief Acrobat in Water Elemental form. In order to qualify for the Battle Box with U20, I completely reset my enhancements to went full tilt into Season's Herald, with a healthy dose Nature's Warrior, so that I could solo the raid (on Normal). Character level was 19, and I was able to tank her using Dire Bear form and shield blocking with Wall of Wood. Of course I was spamming Cure Critical and Regenerate (probably wasted some SP's, but I wanted to make sure I stayed topped off), using only 1 potion.

Dire Bear was a beast (literally), with DoT'ng Creeping Cold and Greater Creeping Cold, with a lucky fully Maxed/Empowered Word of Balance SLA bypassing her SR. It's probably nothing to really brag about, but I think it is proves how effective Druid SLA spell casting and Dire Bear form can be...and this was with only 13 Druid levels. This being said, I think 2 levels of Monk for the feats and the evasion still add a lot...so not sure about going pure...yet.
