Default Looking for top end dps/survivable build

Hey all. I know this is a subjective question and there is no one right answer, but here it goes. The forums seem to be flooded with good builds and its hard trying to pick one out. Im looking for links to DPS builds. I on occasion run with random people who just seem to "plow" through mobs, even on EE. I know some of it relies on equipment but much of it, is the build itself Im assuming. Id like to find one of these types of builds. I am open to anything really. Im looking for something that can dish out enough damage to actually kill things fast and Id like some survivability as well. I currently have a full 2 weapon fighting fighter and he definitely dishes it out but he is a glass cannon and I hate that about him. He gets killed very easy and I'm ready for a change. Not sure which direction to go. Links would be nice as there are hundreds of build here and it rough to sort through them. Thanks all

I think you need to say what your options are. Most of that is through spending a lot of time playing the game and collecting tomes, items, and past lives that make later iterations of your character name less squishy.

For example, firstlife 28pts you can build for DPS, have evasion, and most of the cool things that are recommended. But you're still gonna be a squishy without paying for the tomes that allow you to do everything

Sad to say it but builds have very little to do with end game anymore.
Max out your EDs , stock up on gear. Tomes help but honestly and extra +2 going from a +3 to +5 pales in comparison to getting a full blitz going.

WF/BF - 16 or 15 Wiz/2 or 3 fvs/2mnk Shiradi (unlimited SP neigh unkillable and can solo all u19 EEs with relative ease)
    * sorc variant would use paladin instead of monk *

Judging from how many you Juggernauts and Monkchers you see around that either would easily be up to the task.

The Shiradi build BY FAR takes the least amount of gear and tomes to be viable but also can feel faceroll and boring

I think most any pure melee build would have to struggle to deal with all the incoming damage but I haven't tried myself due to seeing how quickly 1 melee can shred my Shiradi with 28% dodge, displace and stoneskin. I even tried a PM shiradi that had 30% incorp on top of all that and it was slightly better but still not good enough.

    1. How many and which past lives?
    2. How many, which, and what + tomes?
    3. How much investment of time into this character are you considering?

You can find completionist builds, if you like, but I've never been attracted to the idea; any build that could benefit from +2 to all stats has better things to spend feats on, but that's just my opinion.

I use EE Adamantine Knuckles with sovereign electric, cold, and acid slotted with a holy burst ToD ring and almost never change weapons. Planar conflux is nice, but not that big a jump from the Sun Soul set bonus, which I would use, anyway, for the stance bonuses.

I've been a little busy last few days but I'll do what I can to elaborate.

Sorc variant is covered by the build Aradios linked

    Here is my wiz build:

*****Much of my build was influenced by Cdr's build found herehttps://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...soul-2-monk%29. Mine differs enough that I think it warranted a separate writeup. He goes SOOOOOO much more in depth and gives you a lot to chew on. I mostly used his explanations for his choices as a sounding board to bounce my own personal playstyle ideas off of but he 1000% deserves a mention for his influence*****

Standard except for: 2 In the weeds(i have a +9 dodge item), 3 Elemental Absorption

    Twists:
1- T4: Sense Weakness (Required for burst from Ruin @17k crits)
2- T1- 3: Boulder (Nerve toxin or PW:S + Sense Weakness + Arcane Supremacy + Boulder = 17kish crits), Perfection of Body(If U19 EE Disintegrates are owning you), whatever your playstyle dictates
    3- T1: Unearthly Reactions (Required)

    Enhancements:
    AM > Arc Sup
    AoV> 3rd tier crit
Racial> at least 2nd tier Construct Nature.
    Ninja> Agility
    Henshin Mystic> 1st core

Reasons for my Epic Feat choices

Ruin: Burst (Nerve toxin or PW:S + Sense Weakness + Arcane Supremacy + Ruin = 17kish) 'nuff said.

Hellball (a.k.a. Metoer Swarm 2nd cousin): AOE burst (even decent on single target if you have the SP to burn) + MASSIVE proc opportunities IF used CORRECTLY. i.e. Hellball does damage if it passes THROUGH a target AND Splashes when it hits solid objects. It *usually* does the same amount of hits on all secondary targets that it does on the hard target. That means 8 hits per cast NOT 4 if you just over your targets head and fire down through their body or cast through with a wall behind.. That means when you have 10 mobs around you it gives you ~50-80 proc opportunities (depending on how close they are to the hard target. This *usually* means death in solo EE's to any non orange/red named mobs depending on procs and saves/evasions. Whatever doesn't die to the Hellball + Shiradi procs is often stunned by Nerve Toxin. For instance I always use it on wolf packs to stop the trip and 9/10 times is wipes them all out.

p.s. Don't go spreading the Hellball stuff around too much or else it WILL get nerfed. I REALLY have debated on telling people about this but by now enough people should have figured it out and reported it so they are aware. It probably wont get nerfed unless enough crybabies take craps all over the forums about it.

    Gear Choices
CDR gives great gear choices and advice here.
    https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...soul-2-monk%29

I personally don't like all his Feat choices and stat beliefs. Nor his apparent inability to debate other peoples opinion.

In gearing I mainly differ in thinking that Radiance >= Sonic. I personally run a Short Sword combo or Impulse/Kinetic /w Radiance slotted and a Sonic/Radiance Lore /w Reconstruction or a Potency /Radiance /w Sonic slotted depending on my gear setup. I also have a Staff with Impulse/Radiance.Radiance Lore /w Sonic slotted and wear the Kinetic Lore bracers instead of Parry bracers.

    Saves:
In junk gear I sit at:
60: Fort (I believe that on my current toon I lvled up 2-4 pts in Con so this build will be a few pts lower)
    66: Reflex
    50ish: Will

    Race:
Personally I think Bladeforged is better than WF simply due to a better racial tree (mainly Recon SLA) and looking cooler.

That should be enough to be dangerous. This build DOMINATES all content and will thoroughly impress in decent gear.

I like this idea and the early melee one as well, maybe Ill TR 2 of my guys Thanks guys gives me some things to chew on.

Not a problem. Glad to help. I wanted to reiterate that a lot in that build that should be credited to Cdr. The solid and in depth guide he gave for his build is outstanding and imo one of the top 5 best written guides I've ever seen.

I have to say that there is a pretty solid core of decent people here on these forums. I used to be a top 2% WoW PvPer and avid forumite but I just couldn't stand all the ridiculously over the top a$$hats that exist ingame and on the forums. Although there are about 20 **** flinging ****** monkeys for every reasonable intelligent adult there are a lot of people that are here to share what trial and error has taught them and any opinions (right or wrong) that were picked up along the way.

P.S. If you have enough guys to TR go try my BF "Eldrich Archer" and tell me how it plays so I don't have to drop $50 figuring it out since Lamannia is closed just as I get access to BF. I'll name my firstborn after you for real. Bigd mag ******. Its an especiallt awesome name for a girl imo!!! :P

I like this build. I have a second life monk that I may TR into this build.

How do you fight him? Just at a distance, or can you get up in his face with weapons?
