Default XP Pots no longer needed in Epic Levels?

I've not had a lot of time to play around on Lammania this cycle, too much to do to get toons ready for U20.

But I was updating the spreadsheets I use to plan my levels today based on the last week's release notes and something started to pop out.

Since I plan to predominately EPIC and ICONIC reincarnate for a while, XP is no longer the limiting factor. All of my efficient daily run cycles get me to level 28 well before I have the 4200 Comms of Valor to reincarnate. I can substitute in some higher level quests in place of some of the most xp efficient short quests, but I still get to the XP number before I get to the comms number, using just the 5% XP pots from the Cannith challenges.

So, I guess my pots are now only going to be used in Heroic levels... I guess that's good news, my current stash of store and daily roll pots could last for a very long time now.

Taking the occasional Legendary Victory instead of Comms makes it worse...

XP Boost weekends make it worse...

Running xp efficient quests makes it worse...

Using an EPIC OTTOS XP stone would make it much worse...

    Wildernesses make it worse...

    Challenges make it worse...

Not sure that was the intent, but it looks likely unless I missed something pretty major in my spreadsheets. Note that I'm guessing at the Comm drops in quests based on the screen shots and dev reports on the Lammannia forums, but I don't think i'm off by a lot.

So unless you run a lot of EE content you probably don't need XP pots in Epic Levels any more.

Maybe we have Comm boosting pots and Comm boost weekends coming...

Do you always use a spreadsheet to plan your fun?

It's totally true, I have a reliable source. You better reroll now.

great. this will be fixed now so xp pots will be more desirable to buy in epic content.

I agree that the bottleneck seems to be the coms now. XP will just come while you're hunting coms anyway so there's no need to enhance it with pots really.

This assumes that every heart is earned in game and you don't buy any. I plan on buying my first heart so I can start right away and banking all my coms from this life so that should speed up my next few lives as a result. If one is willing to buy an occasional heart then coms from that particular life can be banked for the next one, mucking up the math a bit.

Of course, zerging, powergaming, maximizing XP/minute, grinidng, farming and trying to make most powerful hero possible is forbidden by nautral and divine laws to be fun by anyone.

The only thing allowed to be fun is casual play, roleplaying, various self nerfing restrictions, and flowersniffing may be considered to be fun by anyone.

Correct: once you hit Epic, if you're wanting to ETR, XP is completely out of the picture.
Obviously you'll still need to get it, but as you accumulate it while gathering comms for a heart, getting enough xp is a guaranteed given, even after they raise the levelcap to 30.
Unless of course you want to BUY a heart.

XP pots werent ever needed since the Xp ransack changes. Quests go back to full XP in a day or two so theres no longer a worry about limited XP due to repetition like there was previous to the change.

I think the point was that xp pots speed up your xp/min. There is no pot to speed up your coms/min. In your example, yes you can level up off any appropriate quest over time, but I'm certain the OP is considering time a factor.

So is he then asking for pay-to-raise-com-count mechanic, so he can still plow VON 3-5 daily etc...?

    Just put comms for shards.

EE farmers will finally be able to spend shards they earned on something useful.

I think this comment should be removed before Turbine gets all $$$$$ again. If they make a +50% coms pot and put it in the store, I'm blaming you now.

You could always use XP Pots and buy your hearts.

Might I suggest that you use a nice chart to budget for both expenses?

Because they would have never thought of it on their own.

They might have come up with +50% pots, but would they also have thought to add "+20% greater tome of earning of commendations of valor"? or the lesser 10% variant and the inevitable upgrade tome?

If you're going for epic TR'ing then yes, OP.
Pots will actually INCREASE your grind since xp is no longer the limiting factor, the commendations will be.

This is the reason why instead of holding at cap a couple of my guys, I tr'd them. I would have had to regrind every quest again just to get the commendations and that is my idea of no fun. May as well level up while grinding those things, IMO.

If you're just leveling up to get to cap, then no. Pots will still speed you along that route nicely.
