I want DDO to be a better game. Those are my personal suggestions on: Ammunition, Archmage, Combat Stances, Deities, Dispel Magic, Epic Destiny Map, Fast Healing, Favor, Favored Enemy, Half-elf Enhancements, Monk Kensai, Monk Stances, Past Life, Potency, Potions, Ranger Spells, Summons, Tiered Loot.
ML was lower when Vale was first released, I think, but initial release was a little before my time. I started playing very early into Mod 8, end of Jan or so 2009. ML was 11/12 by then.
I agree, Threnal needs some love. Expand it, make it a proper wilderness, make a few optional quests that can involve saving the site/defending it against enemy raids, level out the quest levels so it is progressive instead of regressive, add a epic setup for it, upgrade the loot.
I am sure doing these things are on a whiteboard somewhere in their offices. Same with Three barrel cove, sorrodusk, tempest spine, catacombs, and just about every quest in the game really. Imagine some redesign and epic for all the quests.
I wonder how hard it would be to add a raid to Threnal?
Maybe a level 28, somewhat simpler one?
Expand the final quest?
Maybe not, but its a thought?
Epic Threnal should be done,the side caves the explorer area,lotsa wasted space.
The threnals are very easy to run,I run them at level8-10 and do them all elite.
And whoever said epic water works?!? really water works..you just started playing didn't you?

Just re ran this again couple days ago, was hoping for some XP changes but was sadly mistaken.. holy **** was the exp awful. There was one quest that gave a bit, but the others just REALLLLLY don't make up for it. That 15 minute timed one that gives 3k made me want to rip my PC out of the wall....

I am all for an Epic Threnal if they revert the Giant cave back to the invis, zerg, loot, finish out method with a level 30 chest at the end.
East 3 (Lets be honest we get a L28 Favored soul guildy to help here so no-one cares what its level is)
It's not the difficulty, it's the TIME & amount of energy required v.s. the payout. 15min = 4kxp (with a 30 pot running).... thats close to 270xp/min. In any zerger's book that is just downright PAINFUL
Solo on Elite this quest is ridiculously easy.
While a revamp of Threnal would be welcome, I don't really want to see ANY chain Epic that requires flagging in a particular order and has no option to choose which quest you want to do withough slogging through all the others. This includes Delera's, Sorrowdusk, and Tangleroot.
I just ran Hold for Reinforcements on elite at level 12 and found Coyle to be much sturdier than in the past, plus it seems he stays knocked out for much longer than he used to. In the past I would just buy a level 13 hireling so as not to break my streak, but it was much easier this time than it has been before.
The quest flagging mechanics are absolutely terrible, and the dwarf in the Western Excavation is so squishy I always leave him where he starts out, clear the entire cave system, and then go all the way back and get him. It's annoying that it takes so long, but he seems to be one-shotted by just about everything, and he tends to run off on his own quite a bit.

Epic Threnal sounds like a good idea, hidden secret library, stopping Reavers, and a giant portal. I would LOVE to see the side quests have FAVOR added to them. Also, lets make Sorrowdusk Epic as well, Ogres, Trolls, Mephits (imagine that ambush spot on EE), and Reavers, fighting to save Stormreach from certain doom.
there are only a handful of exceptionally crafted quest storylines in ddo and threnal is one of them it's sad that it isn't run that much anymore because it really is a very nice quest chain. Caverns of Korimar (sp) is another that is very well crafted but rarely run anymore the main reason many don't run it is simply the fear of the beholder instilled upon many of us that ran this quest years ago when that beholder was one of the scariest things in the game at the time lol. these days though it's not as bad and a fun quest but it is long and low xp
But threnal I would love to see the xp upgraded for it so that people run it more.
