I'm just curious, what makes you, the player, seek to adventure in DDO? For me, the driving force in adventuring is the experience. I want to be a part of something big in the world and partake in a storyline that is fun, meaningful and has purpose(Which includes making choices). For example, the first two adventure packs for Menace of the Underdark (And maybe the prequests) were actually quite fun because it focused more on adventuring than being a slaughterfest. I don't care too much for loot, as long as what I have is sufficient to get by. I don't have too much fun grinding for loot nor do I have fun when I have to do some massive, mindless slaughtering combating some of the worst AI controls and latency in a game. What about you? Are you in it just for the loot? To explore strange new worlds? To seek out new life and new civilizations? To boldly go where no one has gone before?
