    Default PDK THF - Bold Bigflank

    So the idea was to create a fun THF PDK class.
    This is based on the Monk Renegade by elg582 https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...hter-3-Paladin

    His build seems to work nicely through lvls 15-20. Mine doesn't as much. The main difference is I suffered through levels 15-19 to get an extra feat in.

    So what is this class? It is a monk/kensei built around the greatsword and cleaving with all the nice bonuses that monks bring.

    Pros -
    Imp Evasion
    Grandmaster of Forms
    High CHA skills (I focused on UMD but I might make another based on Diplomacy and Intimidate for different quest options)
    High saves
    Immunity to all diseases, fear.
    Some self healing.
    High dodge. 25% +
    25% concealment.
    Little bit of sneak attack.
    +2 Tomes are pretty easy to get for everyone these days.

    Cons -
    No OC.
    Not focused on tactics, so not for EE.
    Low PRR
    No ranged abilities.
    Using short swords leveling 15-19.

    Force of Personality - though I think it fits so well in this build.
    Deflect Arrows - could be subbed for any Martial arts feat. Toughness perhaps.
    Two Handed Fighting - Not a big fan of this one myself. Perhaps more saves. Or whirling steel strike if you want to use longswords for a brief time.

    The fact that these options exist means that a TWF build could be done for longswords... maybe even bastard swords. It would be tight though, perhaps dropping grandmaster.

    Didn't have time to ponder much, but here's my initial thoughts:

    - push out monk levels 7-9 for last (18-20), this lets you get centered and use real weapons earlier, imp evasion can wait (you'll never miss a save anyway most likely)
    - with that many monk levels, fists are likely better than short swords, but without TWF feats I'd probably stick to great weapons and not worry about being centered
    - THF feats add a LOT of damage, especially since they proc on all cleaves/great cleave (all targets, greater base damage). I would drop deflect arrows and mobility for ITHF, GTHF (or drop FoP instead of mobility, as saves will be solid anyway)
    - make leveling order at beginning: paladin (for proficiencies), monk (take power attack as bonus), monk (for evasion, take THF as bonus), paladin (for saves bonus)...waiting til 16 for saves is way too long, and while evasion could wait a few levels there is no reason to that I can think of.

    - 9 monk may be a waste. With monk + grace you'll have awesome saves, spending 3 levels to get imp evasion seems wasteful unless you want the monk PL. 12/6/2 or 8/6/6 may serve the build better.

    - Agreed. I'll rework it and do that.
    - With charisma giving attack and damage for shortswords, they would be a better option. Though this would be fixed if we address the first issue you pointed out.
    - I like the dodge bonus. And there are epic feat spots that could be used for the THF line. But will note that the dodge line is more of an option than I initially thought, thanks.
    -The levelling order at the beginning is pretty strict to allow for all the prereqs to get in under the bonus feats and what not. It was honestly the hardest part of getting this to work. Of course, once I found out that the builder doesnt know that PDKs get a human bonus feat, it became easier, but I haven't tinkered with that part yet.
    - I the 12th level kensei ability isn't as desirable because it uses charisma for damage. So I think imp evasion is more useful.

    Since this is a PGK, you get to level 15 as a start. So there is no playthrough issues in the early levels.
