Default Why doesn't turbine want non-monk melees CC'ing?

CC is defined as any effect which lowers the damage the target does to the party while increasing the damage the party does to the target, for example: Stunning Fist (+50% damage for party, -100% damage for target).

I'm writing this thread mainly to address the continuous nerfing of powerful weapon effects, such as Life Stealing. Most weapon CC effects have a laughable DC and as such wont proc more than 5% of the time so relying on anything DC based is not a good idea. Effects like Life Stealing have no DC and will work on almost all enemies, thus providing every non-monk melee with a viable CC option. Now turbine wants to take that away too why is there this focus on making monks the primary melee CC class?

Monks are probably the only melee class intended to be run without armour. So some CC for the monk does make sense.

However, if that really is a problem for you, they should probably just nerf the monk class and leave the CC up to the casters and the occasional nerfed weapon.

Because Turbine loves the pay2win monks and doesn't think you should play anything else.

Well I guess we could all be equally poor but I'd rather have everyone equally rich and have everyone be able to practice one form of CC or another, not have one class monopolize melee cc.

    *sigh*

Pure fighters and pure barbs are so bad right now, it's sad.

But they get a wisdom bonus to ac and stances that improve ac and prr.

My monk has a far better defense than my barb or bard who wear light/medium armor.

No one's supposed to play Barbs anymore. Don't you read the forums?

Unless they are twf, have 4 levels of a healer class and 4 levels of rogue. Then the demise of barbarians has been greatly exaggerated.

Ear Smash ain't too bad. Barbarians also have a reasonable line in the infliction of stat damage to cause helplessness, though I'm sure it's nothing like as effective as the monk method.

15 second cooldown and there's only one of it.

Monks have more cc abilities, I'm not proposing taking monk's cc abilities away I just don't want to see them monopolize cc.

Ah. Yes. There is that. My bad.

I apologise for the hyperbole, I'm sure I've been warned about it at least a million times by now.

Trip, the shadar chain attack are two CC options that were not mentioned. ALthough they are not all that useful at epics, not everyone outside the forums are stuck up there.

All melee, no matter build, can CC for 10 seconds thanks to adrenaline....

But I do agree Stunningblow is bloody silly; 12 seconds cooldown - stuns for 6 seconds -- Expensive and takes extreme build measures to get a reliant DC, and it's not idiot proof in terms of lag or if you happen to roll a 1 (adrenaline is idiot proof).

If you can't CC on a fighter with a billion feats, you're not trying.

I just wish I had enough finger dexterity to take a shot of five enemies on their backs thanks to Improved Trip's shortened cooldown and longer duration.
I Cannith-craft (150 levels in all schools) for free on Thelanis if you provide all needed materials.
