    Lightbulb Legendary Quest

I have had this idea in mind for a while and I have finally decided to post it on the forums. The new expansion is coming soon and I am sure it will be nice for people to have some Lvl 30 epics which is all well and good... but Turbine may add this to the back burner as their final quest pack if it ever comes to it. One legendary quest.

What would make a quest legendary?

This quest will not be Elite. It will be marked legendary with its own custom entry window with warnings.

This quest is supposed to be endgame that is only playable once per life of you fail the quest. If you beat the qiest you can run it again a different way to see what else you might see. If your group gets wiped.... gotta TR or ER to try again.

Story: From what I currently understand there are 16 Gods of Eberron. This quest will involve all 16 of them and your reward will come from one of the 16 Gods depending on how you play out the quest. The key to this working is content that is not static and varying enemies popping up throughout the quest to fight you. Might be nice to debut some dragonbourne if you follow the track of the Church that hates them.

Anyways moving on from that tangent, this quest should bring forth all the enemies or allies associated with the Gods. This means you can betray all of the friends you have made on your Journey or do the quest in favor of them. Betraying the silver flame would be interesting of their God was doing something it shouldn't. I know people love their pots.

Now this is where it winds up becoming interesting. This quest will be a raid that requires at least one person, of every class with each using a different epic destiny. Throughout the quest, whichever track you take, their will be an array of situations where you have Str Checks, Int checks, Dex Checks, Con Checks, Wis Checks, Cha Checks, Skill Checks, and Wilderness, Religious, and Arcane Lore Checks. Bard will have to serenade people to get passed them, Fighters will have to intimidate guards, Barbarians will have to solo a giant in order to keep the party from fighting an overwhelming ambush in an arena, stuff like that. Or you can fight them, and have the optionals change, like alerring the God of your violence, etc.

Make every party member do their part to complete the quest, explain where the Warforged Souls go. Etc.

Add magic free zones, penalties for religious toons in certain sections of the quest. Have moments where globe of invulnerabolty will be useful to protect the party from poison gas filling a locked death room. Every possible idea can fit in this quest.

Although its a rudimentary post, i want your feedback and ideas that you would want in a legendary quest.

The reward would be one item from the God Chest of Privacy of said Diety you saved or destroyed. And there should also be a special bonus for this quest as well. Completing it with a flawless, ingenious debilitation bonus, persistence bonus should do more than just give XP, like God Weapons, A Teleporter, Something Random and Cool. +10 tome of mastery or something. Post your ideas guys.

Warning: this quest may actually require you to spend more than 20 minutes in the dungeon to complete. It my require you to complete more than three objectives for completion. It may further require you to actually fight or sneak by monsters, rather than running past them.

One objective will be to activate a device that transports a random low level character from the Harbor, who must be protected and brought alive to the end fight in order to get completion.

Godang I like that idea, but for it work i think it would make sense if someone in the party got sapped of all their stats to be flat 0 or 8 and your gear gets disenchanted so you gotta work hard and buff the **** out of the guy to keep him alive. If he dies it results in failure.

This would be an interesting objective to have at the end of quest. You defeat the boss and open the loot chests and then the objective chest and the God smites that one player who opened it with Amnesia. Amnesia means you lose all your feats, past lives, etc. forget everything about themselves and lose all their feats and just have their stats as if they were without enhancements or build points. And this God sends hordes after you and you gotta fight and run from them. The item he grabs is bound to his soul, if he dies, it will evaporate.

Yeah lets have Turbine spend the time and resources to make the most massive, intricate, complicated, and difficult quest in the game, and then make it so you can only run it 1 time per life. And then further make it nearly impossible to assemble a team that might even possibly beat the quest, because it requires one of everything - and all who haven't already run it yet that life. But its OK because you'll get completely overpowered rewards if you defy reason and reality and actually complete it.

So basically you're making a quest for the 1 or 2 uber-power guilds who might actually be able to assemble the "dream team" you need, which would basically require you building a whole party of characters from L1, specifically to complete this one quest that one time.

Oh and I hope you don't have any lag, or get grouped with a griefer who thinks its funny to DC in the middle of the last fight, because the whole quest is so arbitrarily rock-paper-scissors that you cant complete it without whatever skill or ability he had, and leave everyone else anti-flagged for the quest until they TR again

Besides, isn't HH Extended basically a "legendary" quest, inasmuch as its super long and intricate and lore-rich and all that?

The quest is not meant to be long. It shortens depending on the choices you make. The idea isn't beat all the Gods in one go. Instead its supposed to challenge the party by making their choices relevent in regards to the God they are helping or ****ing off.

For example, you have the cleric use the heal skill to sew up a minotaurs bleeding wound, of you heal him he will open a secret path, convinces the guards you should pass or tells you the weakness of the boss. Hints and stuff. If you fail to heal him and he dies, his friends pops up and sees you next to his dead friend pulls the alarm and alerts tons of mobs that take a while to deal with. **** off enough people and you get overwhelmed. Have sections where the party has to seperate and you have arcane, religious, and Wilderness lore checks.

This quest is the kind that will require preparation for anything because you do not know the possibility. It would be cool to have the quest change for the next run you try, and its a different boss all together and a different God you have to deal with.

HH is just a big bucket of awesome. I'd rather see more of that that what's proposed in the OP.

Even better. The device transports Coyle from threnal. The ultimate challenge is to protect him (or sacrifice him to please the gods.)

I think a legendary difficulty, or hh extended style of quests that only unlock after you cap would be good.

For the deity thing; make it 17 raids, and I would live it. A raid chain. I would hope they had awesome mechanics, puzzles, ingenious trappings, etc.

    Default Cr31!

Was contemplating something similar, in my mind I called it CR31! You would have to be on a capped Char to enter, 30 + all ED spheres capped, and have finished all level 28-30 quests on EE to qualify. there should only be one difficulty which should make EE feel like HN....

That would fit nicely if they ever did it. But this is supposed to be endgame. To give longevity, i'd install a legendary past life for that toon after defeating all the 16 Gods.

How about a huge Arena quest? First you have to be flagged for ALL the raids, so this quest can be done either Heroic or Epic. Just arena style raid boss battles one after another, no pre-quest just the last battle. So a heroic run would have the 5 Abishai, Velah, Sorjek, Toven, Lord of Blades, Stormreaver (doomsday device already armed) Demon Queen, Harry, Horoth, Suulomades, Xy'zzy, Warforged Titan, and Abbott (last round with fully abilities rocks and wands appear in quest). Epic would have all the Epic raid bosses. Normal-shrines after each fight, Hard-Rest Shrine after each fight, Elite-no shrines.

This sounds interesting in concept, but I think the biggest issues would be the time it would take to fill out a group (it's not fun waiting around for a group to fill), combined with lots of group leaders who will screen out players (could you imaging getting some inexperienced player in the group who ruins the quest for you?!). I've seen screening generate a lot of ill will (it's not fun to be screened, and especially not fun to be screened out based on some other person's very limited knowledge of you), which means that this quest would likely only get run by large guilds, channels, etc. The issue with that is one of ROI (Return on Investment) for Turbine. I'm sure they would prefer to spend the same amount of developer time and create a different quest that all players could play, which makes more business sense for them.

Now to put a spin on your idea...I like the idea of an end to your character's story. One that you could end your character's career on, where you could go off and retire, ascend to being a deity god, TR, or whatever, but really I feel like I'd rather have some sort of short solo quest, where you speak with NPCs about the successes in your life, the choices you made, etc, and you are given some choices in how you want to end your story, followed by a short cut scene or picture of your character in their final glory, sailing off into the sunset, or so on. At least that's my 2CPs.
The best part of the 10th Anniversary of DDO...the description on the Oatmeal Raisin Kookie,
"From a distance you thought this was a chocolate chip kookie. Now you're sad."
