To future of DDO! My name Xxxgfggg. Get it? So pronounces for me to hear! Yes we need to evolve the creation of char names urgently!
Salute to all players and developers.
I love DDO as a unique game which differs by its competitors by forming Teams balanced each with its role in the adventure.
So I would like to alert developers or anyone who manages the game.
CHANGE THE CREATION MODE/ARCHTECTURE OF NAME OF CHARACTERS, AND FAST!
- Is "the name" is precisely what you will distinguish you from the other characters. "The name" that will bring you reputation among players. "The name" is the most important thing in "creating" the character!
- Today the creation of a new name for my character or change the name of my old character is absurd. I do not want ridiculous names or none nexus as Xxxxxtggggg or Ggrrrrrruk where neither the right to pronounce. (If I were ork fine, but damn I'm human, lol). OK the conversation is serious!
- The architecture of the game, today, not let you create names with space or special characters or at least accent. This makes it very difficult to invent a name that I like it and that no longer exists in server.
- Imagine if the player never get into the game, he created a character named Conan, played by 1pm, barely arrived at level 5, did not like the game and never in his life will play again, this name is unusable by remaining lifetime of the server! I'm sure that many characters have more than 5 years without access!
Fix it it as soon as possible. And do not tell me that does not, If you can not, sorry dude but you are losing new players. No investment / attractions to gain new players you will be cutting the life cycle of new players and if this continue to go that way you lose money, fans (players) and will be frozen in time. There will be no future for DDO, only the glories of the past will be forgotten with time. Ok, I'm dramatizing too but think a little. I will be more objective next!
There are several ways to fix this, follow examples from other MMORPGs:
Example Number 1:
A certain very famous Korean MMORPG: You can put in your first name spaces and accents. I Might create character names as "Geralt Of Rivia" in the first name, another player who wants the character's name as "Geralt", can create by adding a surname in own first name, or rather, a Middlename: "Geralt The Witcher ". This opens up a huge range of possibilities.
Example # 2: (the best way of naming characters in my opinion)
Also a certain MMO based on D&D: You can create any name you want, regardless if other characters also have the same name. The unique identifier of the player is at your Login name associated with the character.
An example: Character named "Hercules" of player login "Texugo1986" and another character also called "Hercules" of player login "Hexodus" and many other characters with the name "Hercules" when they want, the player who decides and he will never feel limited or get that annoying message that this name already exists.
Example No. 3: (Not very good, but can be used as palliative)
A certain RPGMMO based on Starwars: Accepts accents. They possessed dozens of servers, with the decrease of the players they closed almost three quarters of its servers and migrated the characters of the servers closed to another active server for grouping a greater amount of players on each server. In this migration the characters had migrated to rename the name of the characters, and, where they already existed up that name it creates a new one. This week I received an email saying that the characters under level 30 will be flagged for rename, or other players can create characters with the name of my CHARACTERS. (I can understand their side, after all, how many characters we create, does not pass the level 5 and then never plays, never even)
This information is for you developers / administrators / owners of the game. I hope some developer read these tips, this outburst touch their hearts (lol, yes this was unnecessary), spend some think about it and act as quickly as possible... for the future of DDO.
Do not come to chat that is not possible, the architecture of the game does not allow, I'm a Systems Analyst, I know it is possible, costs money and resources ... but it is possible.
