    Default Heroic caster lives

    I know this area is mostly to analyze the new reincarnation options, but since we now have Spell Power as a stat, and caster past lifes raises casting abilities so high that they are almost required for any kind of DC caster today, did you guys considered changing them to make them less required?

    Cleric Passive Past Life
    Current: Bonus to turn undead, +Conjuration DC
    Future: Bonus to turn undead, +Positive spell power

    Favored Soul Passive Past Life
    Current: +SP, +Spell Penetration
    Future: +SP, +Light/Alignment spell power

    Sorcerer Passive Past Life
    Current: +SP, +Evocation DC
    Future: +SP, +Acid, Fire, Cold, Electric and Sonic spell power

    Wizard Passive Past Life
    Current: +Wand DC, +Spell Penetration
    Future: +Wand DC, +Force/Repair spell power (Or universal, but lower than the other past lifes)

    The DC/Spell Pen bonus would be added on the active past life feat.

    Cleric Active Past Life
    Current: +2 Heal, Healing Word clickie
    Future: +2 Heal, +2 Conjuration DC, Healing Word clickie (Stricktly better than Spell Focus)

    Favored Soul Active Past Life
    Current: +2 Diplomacy, Avenging Light clickie
    Future: +2 Diplomacy, +2 Spell Penetration, Avenging Light clickie (Or maybe changing the clickie for a 5/rest wing)

    Sorcerer Active Past Life
    Current: Mental Toughness benefit, Arcane Surge clickie
    Future: Mental Toughness benefit, +2 Evocation DC, Arcane Surge clickie (Stricktly better than Spell Focus)

    Wizard Active Past Life
    Current: +1 Universal DC, Magic Missile clickie
    Future: The same (Current past life is already good enough)
    Amossa d'Cannith, Sarlona, casually trying Completionist (12/14) [<o>]
    Almost-never-played-alts: Arquera - Chapolin - Fabber - Herweg - Mecanico - Tenma


    I want DDO to be a better game. Those are my personal suggestions on: Ammunition, Archmage, Combat Stances, Deities, Dispel Magic, Epic Destiny Map, Fast Healing, Favor, Favored Enemy, Half-elf Enhancements, Monk Kensai, Monk Stances, Past Life, Potency, Potions, Ranger Spells, Summons, Tiered Loot.

    This is probably a chicken or the egg sort of thing, but as high as saves are now, we need the boosts to spell DC.

    I would be okay with this sort of change, but only if the mob saves came down considerably. Is this also your intent? Because, honestly, if I were do review the heroic caster past lives I'd go the other way based on end game. I'd double the spell pen and all the school boosts (except necro only because it has the most instakill spells and that might get overpowered.)

    Yes.

    Note, however, that this change affects only conjuration and evocation DC, and if desired, only reduces them by 1 (5% chance, hardly game-breaking).

    There will be a large nerf to Spell Pen, from +9 free to +2 with FvS active past life. But Spell Pen needed this nerf to keep those six lives to be mandatory to any non-nuke caster.
