The message people are sending to Turbine:

Problem is, the seem to be willfully deaf to our opinions and thoughts in these kids of things. History around here being what it is, even if the Dev change this policy it will still be one of the staggeringly few times they've listened to our anger and resentment.

I've said it time and again, there is a disconnect between what the Devs think and do Vs. how the Players feel and want. It's been this way for years now. Most of the game's life cycle. I don't expect it to change. Ever.

I think, it is not the devs, but their MBA$$es higher up doing the new shiny policies and justifying any work only according to the product lifecycle portfolio, where DDO is in the cash cow stage: Milk it until you kill it.

I always thought the TR heart in the store was too expensive and the TR heart ingame was too cheap and easy to get (run 20 quests to gain 1400 TP, ***?). I don't understand this, because TR'ing is pretty much the most interesting feature that you can buy from the store. Imo, it would be better if they removed ingame TR vendors completely and then reduce the TP cost of TR'ing to about 700-800. I think people could live with that.

Not me. That would drive me from the game. I'd spend at most 350 TP on a heart.

That would be 80+ bucks for me to tr and I have multi tr projects going on ...... yeah, no. Maybe, seeing as you seem to be so flush, you can buy mien for me.

    Seriously, some fanbois

I don't know what is the best price, but the 1495 that it costs currently is for sure way too high. It seems like they are implementing this mechanic to try and let people buy hearts from the store for the outrageous current price. If Turbine is honest about wanting to increase sales of TR hearts, then just remove the ingame TR vendor and ask a reasonable price; I'd be fine with that. The mechanic they are implementing now seems very dishonest.

    ^ this !!!

even 500 TP (one month TP for a VIP) would be OK. But the current sum is outrageous and the new f2p model is a scam.

You earn back most of that cost from getting favor rewards again, so it is by no means unfair.

    It is entirely unfair.
As a Premium player who does not buy TP, the only TP I can get is from favor farming while I TR.

I spend this TP on things that I enjoy from the store, Bypass Timers, Cosmetics, XP pots, And most importantly account upgrades.

On average I gain about 800+ TP a life, give or take a few hundred.

Do I think it is fair for me to have to pay turbine for what should be an in game service, with TP I would rather spend on something else?
    No, I do not.

It may be fair if you're a VIP and get 500 free TP a month, but to anyone else it's ridiculous.

I can't even begin to explain the disapointment I feel in Turbine with this... Whatever you want to call this.

The price is ridiculous for VIPs as well. I need 3 months of my subscription to one time TR???

Well, is it fair in the first place that you can experience a product that costs money completely for free? There should be some point at which the F2P model requires you to invest some money into the game. If you can TR and buy all the convenience items you want without buying any TP, then clearly something is wrong with the F2P model. They're basically giving away 2300 TP every life by making TR hearts so easy to get (800 favor + 1500 heart), something they could easily charge some money for.

You still believe that after all the placeholder numbers that were shoved forcefully in game despite telling them they were wrong ?

    For the Topic :

    Turbine.

If you are phasing out the old Epic Item system ( you know the seal/shard/scroll/item/tokens one ) you need to
    - do something about the seals/shards/scrolls, as in extend the desert scroll exchange to everything. ( scrolls for scrolls, seals for seals, shards for shards ).
    - tell us that's the objective, that way we would know about it long enough in time to make contingency planning.

You already f****d us up when you changed the augments and you sneak removed the catalysts from Lahar, so that we couldn't slot anything in old items... And some of us don't want to change those old items, because they are partially slotted and we cannot find the slot used anymore.

Now you are going to f*** us up even more by removing the only thing most of us uses to keep playing the game and making it way longer to get.
On G-Land : Flavilandile, Blacklock, Yaelle, Millishande, Larilandile, Gildalinde, Tenalafel, and many other...

    Yes, it is actually.
When I first joined this game I didn't want to invest any more than $25. And I've done just that. Instead I spent all my time playing the game, earning things in game and unlocking more of that game that way. Which to me was the real beauty of the F2P model, I really didn't need to spend a since dime to play and unlock the entire game, I just needed time and patience.

The amazing this that has always attracted me to this game was the fact that I could buy my way into it, buying content, buying hearts, buying whatever; At the same time I could instead work for it. Farm favor on servers, run the content, learn the game.

Did I get my TR hearts for free? In the sense that I didn't pay turbine for them, sure. But I had to run quests to get the tokens, and then trade those tokesn for a heart. I payed with time and effort, not cash.

I know where you are coming from. I play essentially the same way, not because i'm cheap, but because i'm broke.

That being said, i can understand how turbine is not overly concerned with how you or i react to changes in the game.

In defense of myself, my infectious love of the game has caused other people who i play with to spend money on it. I have never bought the challenge pack myself, but i have been directly responsible for involving at least 2 other people in them who then spent real money to buy the pack.

What the value of people who are not spending a lot of money on the game is to the game environment is very difficult to quantify. From an overall profitability standpoint, that is.

I wouldn't mind buying my hearts: I love this game and I'm not going to cancel my subscription...

...but I still feel very strongly that they shouldn't do this. I want the people I meet to be able to TR as well; I want to play Cannith Challenges with them at epic levels (because's it;'s great fun) and bounce back and forth between old epic content with its vintage flavour and token awards, and new epic content with its progression and updated loot. It's fun the way it is, it's more inclusive the way it is, and I hope they keep it like that. This is a serious matter and I really want them to change their plans.

I don't know what is wrong with the rest of you entitled gamers, but I for one am pretty excited and open-minded about the new changes. Frankly, if you enjoy playing DDO, you should be thrilled at the prospect of being able to spend more time playing in a new longer end game grind (saga). And hey, if you really don't enjoy running end game (why even play?!), then stop being a cheapskate and BUY a heart. You aren't entitled to TR...either pay or grind. It's simple.

Have faith in Turbine - when they abandon half finished systems for the next great idea, they do it because it makes the game BETTER. Stop being afraid of change. Or at least, stop whining.

Cmon do you really think they would go live with this? If they did nobody would ever TR.
Everyone needs a little patience these numbers have been posted one day and the TR system is not even on Lammania yet.

Yes I am certain of it. Nobody would ever TR and they would bleed customers overnight. Their mistake was posting the prices of hearts this early in development without giving us any indication of the saga rewards.
Then someone does a saga on Lammania and posts the placeholder numbers which throws the community into a riot. and people wonder why Turbine is so quiet about giving us information, because this is what happens when we only see half of a system.
The new TR mechanic is not even open for testing yet on Lammania. Removing the hearts from the twelve is the real mistake but it's no surprise really. They have been phasing tokens out for a long time now.
Honestly once they get the numbers tuned to a more realistic balance and add some more sagas I think this new system is going to be fine. I will get commendations for doing quests I would have done anyway. Turbine does listen to us and has gone back to the drawing board when we call them out on poor decisions.
