    Default Sireth and Pulverizer

    As stated here

    https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...t-working-WAI?

it seems that Pulverizer can't work with Sireth.. Is it still like this or they've changed something?

    Thanks!

Sireth has never had a bludgeoning element. Since Pulverizer works only on weapons with bludgeoning, this is working as intended.

Welcome to DM Fiat and inconsistency OP.

Sireth gets boned either way due to inconsistency.

Doesn't work with the ED ability Pulverizer because even though it's a Staff, the Slashing Damage component apparently nullifies this.

Pulverizer: Passive Bonus: Increases the critical threat range of bludgeoning weapons you equip by 1. Does not work with Handwraps
Feature/bug: Does not work with Sireth, Spear of the Sky, probably due to the weapon not having a bludgeoning damage component. Does work on Blunted Ammunition ranged weapons though.

Doesn't work with the Monk Enhancement because even though it does Slashing Damage the Enhancement counts it as a Staff and most Staves are Blunt...

Advanced Ninja Training: While you are centered, you can use your Dexterity modifier for damage with piercing and slashing weapons. You also gain a chance based on your Dexterity score to throw an extra shuriken per attack.

So apparently Sireth is both Slashing and Blunt, but only when it works against us.

    Inconsistency FTW.

The only issue with Pulverizer is in its vague text. That's it.

If the text read "with weapons that do bludgeoning damage", it's 100% correct, on each and every one of your bullet points above (to include ninja training and monk enhancements).

It doesn't need a "dev response" to know that's exactly what is intended of the Pulverizer ability, and only the text is (slightly) vague.

It's an ability that allows the user to whack things really hard.

Sireth, spear of the sky, is a spear not a staff. Hence the slashing and pierce damage.

If you're looking for blud damage on a spear....I guess you can poke someone with the spear's butt? POKE

Most cases, what counts is the basic weapon type. For example, Improved Critical: Slash does not check what your weapon damage type is. It checks the weapon type, because it is, in fact, a set of sub-feats that include Improved Critical: Sickle, Improved Critical: Kukri, Improved Critical: Kama, and so on.

Almost everything in the game that means "slashing damage" or so, checks for weapon type like IC.

    The only exception is Pulverizer.
Main: Amossa d'Cannith, Sarlona, casually trying Completionist [<o>]

    Almost-never-played-alts: Arquera - Chapolin - Fabber - Herweg - Mecanico - Tenma

I want DDO to be a better game. Those are my personal suggestions on: Ammunition, Archmage, Combat Stances, Deities, Dispel Magic, Epic Destiny Map, Fast Healing, Favor, Favored Enemy, Half-elf Enhancements, Monk Stances, Past Life, Potency, Potions, Ranger Spells, Summons, Tiered Loot.

And Skybreaker, hand of the stormreaver, is a hand not a great sword.

Intention was making a spear not a staff. So... tough.

I guess if you think it's an actual hand and not a metaphorical "right hand" then yeah, the storm reaver uses a hand to slap people around.

I still think Sireth is a spear.
