Default Fighter Builds/Templates: A compiled link

I enjoyed the various discussions in the Fighter Forum regarding different Fighter builds but most of the time I lost track of the links and posts. So I decided to make a compilation of the more popular builds.

The list below is not listed in any particular order. If you think I am missing certain builds please let me know and I will edit the list.

Hopefully someday someone will make a fighter class guide so we can have all the links of the cool topics in one post.

    Thanks,
    ddjunks

    TANK BUILDS
    --------------------------------------------------------------

    The "Riott" Tank Build
    Date Posted: March 14, 2006
    Race Suggested: Human
The Riott Tank is a Pure Fighter Build that provides a High Intimidate, High AC, and High Saves while maintaining the capability for a rather High Damage Output. Because it stays 10 Fighter it maintains the 10 BaB, and can feed off Paladins Auras and virtually any buff, which makes the top end of this build VERY HIGH in optimal conditions. And because it does not multiclass it is very Feat heavy.

Tank Build - Fighter/Palidan Hybrid by Maldini
    Date Posted: April 4, 2006
    Race Suggested: Human
Here is the build for the Krieg the Bold, the mighty 7 Fighter/3 Paladin multiclass tank build. It has been a pleasure leveling up this character as he is by far the most solid tank build I've seen. With the ability to get all saves over +20 and a standing AC over +50 as well as an Intimidate Score of +40 unbuffed, he can do what other tank builds can't -> outlast.

The Evasion Tank Build (by Illuminati)
    Date Posted: May 25, 2006
    Race Suggested: Human
After playing with guild mates Riott (of Tank build fame) and Muldini (of Hybrid Tank build fame) long enough, and seeing the positives of both, I decided to take a crack at a niche tank build and see what you all thought. The build is centered on high AC (not the highest, but darn good), great saves, great Intimidate, and Evasion (best Feat in the game for melee IMO).

    Elurian's Evade Finesse Tank
    Date Posted: July 14, 2006
    Race Suggested: Drow
The objective here was to take advantage of the drow's stat versatility to be able to excel as a tank, with very high intimidate, saves, and AC while achieving the ability to shift into a very high to-hit mode in order to take full advantage of high end weaponry (particularly special effects).

    Elurian - 8/2 Fighter/Paladin
    Date Posted: July 1, 2006
    Race Suggested: Drow
"The 8/2 build is designed to achieve extremely high intimidate, save and armor class thresholds while retaining the ability to shift into a strong offensive mode. The 2 levels of paladin provide both the basic aura and divine grace, while 8 levels of fighter provide strong feat and enhancement selections."

    TWF/FINESSE BUILDS
    --------------------------------------------------------------

Riott's Two Weapon Fighter - Akeeles Build
    Date Posted: May 31, 2006
    Race Suggested: Elf
This Two Weapon Fighter is a very Niche build, built for DPS with Ultra High To Hit ability. It's a High DEX Fighter with good STR for damage Purposes. It's also unique in that it doesn't wear armor, and instead uses robes for their HOT SWAPPABLE capabilities. It's weak in the AC, but played well you can avoid many hits, and it's Saves are average.

    The Punctanator Build, by Illuminati
    Date Posted: June 5, 2006
    Race Suggested: Elf
This is a Weapon Finesse Fighter build. It is called the ‘Punctanator’ because it relies on Puncturing. The damage of this build is irrelevant, only the target Constitution.

The Iron Blades Build II, by Illuminati
    Date Posted: June 8, 2006
    Race Suggested: Human
This is a two-weapon fighting build. It is called the ‘Iron Blades Build’ because it will last to level 20 and has decent AC for a twf. The problem with most TWF builds is that they are soft and take as much damage as they deal out. This is more balanced, with higher AC potential.

Tesyus Build - 41 unbuffed AC TWF at level 12 by Malachi Stormlight2
    Date Posted: October 10, 2006
    Race Suggested: Dwarf
I have had quite a few people ask me how I managed to make an effective two weapon fighter with the AC of a typical level 10 pally using a towershield.. without using a shield or any other buffs. I was going to keep this my own personal build, but I see no reason to deny other people from having a fun twf build. Beside more people fighting like this in my team would be fun.

    TWO-HANDED and DPS BUILDS
    --------------------------------------------------------------

The Pure DPS Build by Maldini
    Date Posted: June 5, 2006
    Race Suggested: Human
This build is a pure weapon master, offensive juggernaut. It was designed to be on par with my Barbarian build as far as DPS goes. This build is very versatile as far as weapons are concerned and seeks to achieve the highest Attack and Damage scores over a wide range of weapons....

    Herculean Annihilator by Vehemoth
    Date Posted: August 14, 2006
    Race Suggested: Dwarf
The goal of this build was to couple a fighter's to-hit and a barbarian's damage. The result is as high a to-hit as a boosted fighter but with the strength of a barbarian. In the end, the total possible strength surpasses a barbarians and is the most you can get in current game.

    TACTICS BUILDS
    --------------------------------------------------------------

    Strategist Build, by Kraze
    Date Posted: June 30, 2006
    Race Suggested: Human/Dwarf
The Stategist is a crowd control fighter that supports with DPS and neutralization of an enemy through the use of Stunning Blow and Improved Trip. Further the strategist supports the rest of the group by lowering the Armor Class of the enemies they're fighting. Being non-styled can benefit from sword and shield as much as a two-handed weapon.

    Elurian's Earthshaker Build
    Date Posted: August 9, 2006
    Race Suggested: Dwarf
Having heard nothing but good things about the new fighter's strategy line, I decided to put together a build intended to be what I'd term "offensive support." In other words, the goal of the build is to minimize the enemy's ability to do damage by offensively disrupting their actions and reducing their attacks, saves, etc. Obviously, both the fighter and dwarven DC lines need to be coupled with feats like imp trip, stunning blow to really make the most of it.

Versatile and Powerful "Pure" Dwarven Fighter Tank by Renno
    Date Posted: August 4, 2006
    Race Suggested: Dwarf
This pure fighter build is very versatile and utilizes the increased dwarven efficiency to trip, and stun. It has great saves, against spells possibly better than any other fighter, it has the highest possible "to hit" and maintains a very high armor class when needed. Changing out one enchancement you can still become a turtle.

    SPRING ATTACK/WHIRLDWIND BUILDS
    --------------------------------------------------------------

Compiled Weapon Master Builds by Cold Stele
    Date Posted: August 30, 2006
Race Suggested: Various, Check thread there are several links pointing to other builds
The origin of the Weapon Master is from a PnP DnD 3.0 Prestige Class (which also made an appearance in the Neverwinter Nights game) with an identical set of prerequisite feats. Following a request from ddjunks I am posting a compilation of the various Weapon Master (also called Whirlwind/Spring Attack) builds that have been posted on the forum thus far

    WARFORGED BUILDS
    --------------------------------------------------------------

Warforged Tank - How It Can Be Done by Maldini (Warforged Forum)
    Date Posted: June 28, 2006
    Race Suggested: Warforged
Going off of the various tank ideas that have graced this forum over the past few months, I was thinking about how to make an awesome tank out of a Warforged. Now as gimped as many believe the class to be, I feel that they can make a really good tank if built correctly. Here's how I see it taking place.

Adamant Monolith - WF Tank by Kraze Nightwielder
    Date Posted: August 15, 2006
    Race Suggested: Warforged
This is a warforged tank I'm considering building when they fix Armor Mastery to work for us. It really doesn't have anything uniquely Warforged. I just wanted to share and I'm looking for suggestions. I like bludgeoning weapons merely for RP value. I did opt to go without Improved Critical for better tankage.

    Warforged Juggernaut by Renno
    Date Posted: August 16, 2006
    Race Suggested: Warforged
Warforged Juggernaut is designed to make use of a high damage output in tandem with the Warforged immunities. It also has the availability to enter into defense when needed to minimize the need for healing.

    TOUGHNESS/CON BUILDS
    --------------------------------------------------------------

Super HP AC Dwarf Tank build by Hurricane
    Date Posted: April, 2006
    Race Suggested: Dwarf
Basic point to this build is tons hit points along with agro keeping ability with a sick AC. Alignment must be Nuetral for stability equipment. Your enhancments make or break this Build.

    RANGED FIGHTER BUILDS
    --------------------------------------------------------------

    The Archer by Elurian
    Date Posted: August 28, 2006
    Race Suggested: Elf
DDJunks had mentioned wanting a fighter based archer build for the compilation thread, and given the rumored improvements to non-repeater archery, I decided to give it a shot. I'm basing the build on level 12, since the cap will hopefully be going up around the same time that the improvements are made.

Halfling Thrower Build by Kraze Nightwielder
    Date Posted: June 24, 2006
    Race Suggested: Halfling
This build attempts to take advantage of the halflings innate abilities and the usefulness of returning weapons to make a fighter with decent defense and great ranged offense.

    HYBRID/UTILITY FIGHTER BUILDS
    --------------------------------------------------------------

The Batman: Ultimate Jack of All Trades 2P/2R/6F Build by Grenfell
    Date Posted: August 20, 2006
    Race Suggested: Human
From the secret mountain laboratories of Grenfell & Sons DDO Build Engineers comes the latest hybrid build. I have this build up to 8 right now, and have modified the original draft based on my experience so far, as well as invaluble input from the Rogue and Fighter forums. I wanted to post it in the Paladin forum as well since the Batman is really the distillation of the Ravitus build to make it work.
ddjunk's note: I believe that the build was posted both in paladin and fighter forums but the paladin thread is more active.

    THE 1750 FAVOR BUILDS
    --------------------------------------------------------------

Atlas - The Melee Platform by Elurian
    Date Posted: Speptember 28, 2006
    Race Suggested: Human
Versa-tanks have typically been stretched far too thin, sacrificing significant offense in order to achieve the minimum standards necessary to floor enemy to-hit while optimizing saves and intimidate, or giving up key defensive capabilities in order to try to have strong offensive clout. As a result, most versa-tanks end up being "jacks of all trade and masters of none."

Colossus: The Mod 3 1750 Favor Warforged Atlas by Grenfell
    Date Posted: October 11, 2006
    Race Suggested: Warforged
This is yet another idea based on announced changes to Warforged coming in Mod 3, and the 32 point buy from 1750 favor. I figure those who have been loyal to the gimped Warforged race all this time are likely people who are close to 1750 favor in any event, and some of the benefits of the race now make WF a very serious contender for the ultimate in Evasion tanking.

I am gonna sort the thread buils too later for date posted since Turbine might nerf things down and the template is no longer valid or efficient at a later date.

I think the builds are pretty solid and they will stand the test of time and nerf. The tank builds really can't get too much more defensive. I mean, hell the AC and Saves on some of them are astounding.

He has spring attack in both his builds. It is my understanding this is horrible with TWF because you don't get your offhand attack. Otherwise his builds are ok.

I think the best TWF build is high ST Ranger 9 / Fighter 1. I posted one here originally but got so fed up with comments I deleted the post.

    Why?

-Barkskin (need AC to survive with this build)
-Rangers bypass the dex requirements for TWF/ITWF/GTWF
-Heal yourself when you get in trouble
    -Evasion

I know people that swear by spring attack, although that could be a downside. It certainly increases his ability to avoid damage, though.

I tried out spring attack on my pally, before rolling my fighter. It's kinda weird, because you can't see it at work. However, I did stormcleave before and after taking the feat. I had about twice as many kills (~100) with spring attack. It's too bad I couldn't have run it with the same party for a more accurate comparison.

Those are the xtremes.. But wheres a more balanced build?

I think the most min-maxed build will overtake these eventually.
Like 18 strength for DPS along with 13 int/dex for tank feats.

Here's the deal with Spring Attack, if you're attack score is high to begin with, then Spring Attack will give minimal benefit. If you're a DPS build, then there are other feats that will give you more benefit than Spring Attack.

Actually Riott's build has a balance to it. And Krieg can DPS when he needs to by dropping Combat Expertise. The only extremes up there is really the DPS build.

    Tactics 6
    Bullheaded 2
    10 Intimidate Helm
Total Intimidate - 35 (38 if you exchange Iron Will for SF: Intimidate)

Unbuffed to-hit in offense mode with +5 weap & +5 str item or +4 and +1 tome = 10+8+5+2 (WF feats) = +25. Boosts to +33; +37 with +4 bardsong. With +5 unmodded scimitar, avg damage is 1d6 (3.5)+8+5+2(weapon spec) for avg damage of 18.5, critting 30%, for total average damage of roughly 24 per hit. A +4 ele/pure good weapon would bump that past the 30 mark.

+5 strength gear is a bit tough to find, but so far, the ONLY non-restricted +5 stat items I've seen have been strength. Strength is also the only +4 static non-raid item and the only +6 static raid item.

Yeah, I had a 5 int ring (hum only), but it and your cha helm are both restricted.
