o_O Release notes talk about 2 and just 2 quests. Is that all?
Remember promise about new raid in u20?
They announced about a month ago that Update 20 would only be two p2p quests.
Personally, I'm hoping that these two quests will be free to people who bought the Shadowfell expansion since the paid expansion sucked in almost every way. Outside of the nice looking Stormhorns wilderness area, the Shadowfell as a paid product is a failure.
Unfortunately, I doubt it will be part of the Shadowfell package. I also doubt it'll be in the original Devil Assault price range of 250 TP. I expect more overpriced gouging from Turbine, as found with both the Shadowfell expansion and House C challenges. Pay more for less, I'm sure.
Hey they only had time for 2 quests with all that hard work they had to do nerfing the temple of vol.
As long as you have to wander through a vast explorer area in order to get to the two quests, they should be fine.
All on Thelanis: Archenpaul Sixblade, Archernicus Thornwood, Gregorovic Redcloak, Hermanius Brightblade, Jaklomeo Evermug, Jonathraxius Kane, and Praetoreus Silvershield.
Cogito ergo summopere periculosus.
I'll reserve judgement until I see the 2 quests. I'll always take quality over quantity. If the quests have high replay value, reasonable xp and good named items, I'll call it a success even if it's only 2 quests.
If however they follow the same line of thinking that lead to Shadowfell, some decent quests, some meh quests, minimal replay value, cruddy xp and laughable named items (just thinking about Magistrate's Scepter makes me giggle), I'll pass and I'll be right on the nerdrage bandwagon when it rolls by. At least this update seems to also have a large amount of fixes and from the release notes, they haven't made the loot gen system any worse (even if they haven't made it better yet).

Shadowfell was a horrible release and you don't even see anyone from Turbine trying to justify great the paid expansion was like they did with the House C Challenges when that was released and flopped. Heck, with the House C Challenges, they at least tried to address some of their mistakes with it before gutting the key component that made it somewhat worth its value, the XP. Now its only worth getting for the fast Epic Tokens, which will probably have its value gutted within this update.
There's been no talk about improving any aspect of Shadowfell now that its released. Heck, they barely showed interest in fixing some of the problems before the release by throwing out a few more named items, and many of the "good" items were monk only so its was only for a subset of players. Nothing was done about the XP, especially the horrible Heroic XP. Nothing was done about the HORRIBLE named armors.
They may address the XP problem with Shadowfell, but after reading their first pass of the XP adjustments, in addition to the outright ignoring players about how bad the XP was while it was on Lamannia, I have no faith that this will be addressed. And if it is addressed, it'll be for a measly 500 XP more, at least from what I noticed with many of the XP adjustments. So these two new quests should be included as part of Shadowfell, since that expansion happens to be one of the worst values for players to invest in. As I said, the proof is in the Devs not even defending it like they did with the House C Challenges, so they know that it was a horrible release.
There had better be more than 2 quests. Otherwise, mentioning the 5,000 favor reward is a bit premature.
Things that if Turbine went all EXTREME PREJUDICE™ on, would actually make the game fun again.:
- Giving us the racial PrE’s we were promised, before rolling out DDOStore™ Enhancement Trees.
- One loot system to rule them all. (Including Cannith Crafting, and Named Loot.)
- Fixing the Cannith Challenges so that they can be 6 starred without incredible luck or store bought items.
- Adjusting Challenge XP so that they're worth running more than once.
If so, why complain about the lack of new quests? We should be more concerned with what they're, at least trying, to fix
This is a continuation of the game overhaul that began with the announcement of u13. They cant stop at this point and do full qol updates with an incomplete game
All we can hope for in current updates is that they keep the overhaul ball rolling and fix some of the things the ball ran over on the way.
New quests just for the sake of new content is a distant third priority right now imo
