    Default out of date.

    First, I do not know two things about computers and have been getting the following message for awhile and just not fixed it.

    We have detected that your browser is out of date. Please upgrade to the latest version to ensure the proper experience

    I am able to log on to the forums with no problem and even post, but is there a dummies way to get rid of this? Thanks in advance.

    if your browser isn't auto-updating then go to;

    firefox
    http://www.mozilla.org/

    chrome
    https://www.google.com/intl/en_uk/chrome/browser/

    opera
    http://www.opera.com/computer

    and click the download button, then run the file when it finishes downloading.

    thank you for this, but I am unsure what one to use. I use the internet button (not the firefox or chrome). Is there a way to decide what one to use?

    that one would be internet explorer. i don't use it but it should update along with the rest of windows. if it isn't, then you could try http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/i...er/download-ie (uncheck the box that says you want bing and MSN defaults. you probably really don't).

    however, i think internet explorer tends to depend on windows being updated, and if you haven't updated internet explorer then it possible that your windows isn't updated either so trying to install a new version might be a pain.

    honestly, you may find it easier to just download firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and install it. it should offer to import bookmarks and stuff from internet explorer as it installs, take it up on the offer. i doubt it can import passwords, so you'll probably need to know those yourself when you log into websites.

    oh, don't worry btw: if you don't like it, it doesn't make internet explorer go away, everything you have in that browser will still be there.
