I just went to do Wheloon heroic for the first time. It was kind of neat at first and A Lesson in Deception was not too bad.
So we go to Thrill of the Hunt. Yeah, I'm sure most of you already know what I'm going to say.
First, the entrance is hidden in some obscure corner, takes forever to get to. Fine.
The quest itself... tons of swarming mobs, Shadar-kai swinging dazing spiked chains that take half your health in seconds, and howlers that give 60-second-long DoTs that I wasn't able to find any way to dispel. And they stack. Hundreds of points of damage.
Then we get to the boss fight. Insane red name who does ridiculous damage, but never mind that. Two pens swarming with howlers that gave the party orange alert before the fight even starts. The boss is bad enough, then he releases the howlers, we all get harried, lag and die.
And now the kicker: 3k base XP?! For a quest probably more difficult than anything in the Vale?
I thought the purpose of the DA system was to prevent people dragging mobs around, causing server problems and so forth. Why in the name of Lolth would you design a quest where the party gets orange alert immediately?
And where do these XP numbers come from? A dart board?
Someone went to a lot of trouble to make that quest. Why discourage people from running it with a combination of extreme difficulty, broken game mechanics and pathetic rewards? It simply makes no sense. It's a waste of our time and money, it's a waste of your time and money, it's just a waste.
Ove the last two years I've tried as much as anyone here to give you guys the benefit of the doubt, but I honestly, truly do NOT understand what you are doing.
