So I am at a bit of a stopping point regarding my Monkcher build, hopefully you guys can help me out.
Before we begin I should note that I have access to 36 point builds and also +5 tomes across the board. I plan on doing EE content with a combination of Duoing with my Brother and raids. I would like to build this character with a focus on Red Named bosses, with IPS for trash.
Basically I have four areas that I would like help with:
To me for maximum damage, I see a strength based build being superior to dex.
17+2(lvl)+4(tome)+2(compl)+2(yugo)+2(ship)+8(item) +2(insight)+4(alchem)+5(primal)+1(fighter enh.)+2(madstone)+2(destiny)+2(ram's)+1(exc)= 56
(copied and pasted from here: https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...Mnk-6Rgr-2Ftr))
Investing 16 points into dex at character creation would be 2 less than a maxed dex based build. Very curious about the stats here, as I see the majority of people recommending Dex over strength.
I see both H-Elf and Elf being viable. With H-Elf you get another Wisdom point, plus some SA damage from rogue Dilly. Elf you get 4 damage and to hit. Would love to hear your thoughts here.
3. Overwhelming Critical:
I see a lot of people recommending this Feat and I am not convinced it is worth it. (Could be wrong) If my math is correct, on a confirmed critical roll of a 19-20 occurs 5% of the time. With a heavy feat investment and the high strength needed I am wondering if it is worth it.
4. Class selection for the final /2 split:
If the overwhelming critical feat is said to be not worth the investment, would fighter still be the optimal choice?
I can see pally being a great choice for the saves.
I can also see favored soul being good for access to Divine Might for a Two AP investment.
I should note here, I do want umd. With epic levels even without Rogue/Arti level-ups I should still be able to get enough for Tensor's and Heal Scrolls.
I very much appreciate any feedback you can provide. Thanks for your time.
