    Have stat tome drops been unnerfed? It would be nice to know whether there is any point buying loot gems from the store.

    Imagine I have dropped several Supply Chests from Challenges under the effect of +2 Loot Jewel, I logged out witouth opening them, THEN this +2 loot event came - will I get +4 loot bonus on these chests?

    In simplier words: does this event affect actual 'open' of Supply Chest or its 'drop'?

    I'm doing some fairly intensive testing of loot levels this weekend. I'm convinced there is something wonky with the Stormhorns loot tables in addition to the tome nerf. I'll post a detailed thread when testing is complete, but I'm positive it will prove something is wrong with either the Stormhorns (and possibly Wheloon) on epic or that everything else is messed up and giving greater rewards than intended. I'd love some dev insight into both the possible loot cap and tome nerf, but they seem to want to remain silent.

    I'm curious to see the results of your tests. I didn't try to collect any data but last time we had a loot boost it seemed like I was getting lower level rewards in stormhorns than in whellon with +2 loot +1 gem and +1 chest blesser.

    Just did 3 quests on EE in Storm Horns with 6 man. Got 10 chests each. Not a single +20 random lootgen item. I had +2 loot buff along the +2 loot weekend and I believe some but not all of the others did as well. With +2 weekend and +2 buff on EE in lvl 27 quests I saw +17, +18 and +19 items. I am not sure but it feels on the low side and I have to wonder if its indeed bugged. /sadface.

    That's what I've been finding as well. Go hop over to GH or High Road, even on EHard and you'll notice a vast improvement. And those quests would be 4 loot levels below what you just ran. I just sacked out TBF EH and Rest Stop EH and every single chest item and every single end reward offered was in the level 26 to level 28 range. Plenty of level 28 goodies, and not one single level 25 or lower item at all out of 56 chests and 14 end reward lists.

    What character levels were you?

    If you were below 28, you need to take into account that some very old anti-exploit code (from back at the 14 cap) was introduced to stop plat farmers clearing high level quests, then having a bunch of level 1s on a new account loot the chest, then deleting the character when it hit ransack. (Level 16 random loot was potentially valuable at the time as the primary source of +6 stat rings).

    If you are well below the chest level, you have your random loot level capped for this reason.

    The exact details of it were never announced, but it was quite noticeable pre-MOTU if you run, say, EE Druid's Curse on a level 21 character.

    After reading this thread I just did a EH Breaking the Ranks on a level 28 character, with +2 loot jewel and a chest blesser for a total of +5. Two chests, looted 2 +17's and a +18. Sure, that's a tiny sample size but check it out, my end reward list were the Heroic items. So yeah skipping Storm Horns this wkd.

    Level 24 here did Wheloon Prison quest got 3 Chests all had items level 28.. So not sure.. I am not using a loot gem. Also got Legendary Victory Renown from 2 of them..

    Yeah I think we're nailing down Storm Horns as having chest loot tables being funky, not Wheloon.

    OK yeah that is a bit suspicious.

    In the MOTU days I did some pretty extensive testing (in the hunt for the elusive +6 caster sticks... remember when they were good?) of chest loot levels. Each chest seemed able to drop a total of 3 or less '+' values.

    Example: A level 25 chest IIRC dropped about ¼ ML 23 items, ½ ML 24 items and ¼ ML 25 items. (Maybe it was 22/23/24, I can't remember). It also had no chance to drop +17 items, all the ML 25s were +16s.

    I'd be interested to see a bit more testing - do you feel like getting a group together of all level 28s and recording all your drops from 8 chests each? Shouldn't take long.

    No, it is to compensate that random generated loot is far more powerful than most of named items.

    Not doubting anything you said about the loot level cap but how could you run EE Druid's Curse at level 21 pre-MOTU when MOTU was released prior to The Druid's Deep pack and introduced epic levels?

    All were level 26-28 - but still a point worth remembering.
