I was not able to enter Jorasco. I tried zoning in through the gate and also teleporting in with another character. Every time I tried, I crashed. Then, I was not able to log back into that character until I used the transport to Eberron button at the login screen.
As far as the level stuff goes, I'm totally in favour of having mobs spawn by instance level, and *totally against* locking people out based on their character level. As an 18 light monk geared to fight undead, I guarantee you we can kill stuff 10 levels up a hell of a lot faster than most of the people running around crying about "this monster was too weak because you're griefing." It was a preview, made for testing, so once it became apparent that mobs at 16-20 or whatever were getting one-punched and not dropping anything, I jumped up to the next tier to see if that would be better. Somebody had mentioned that only liches in 26+ were dropping dust, so I bumped up again and tried that out. The shadar-kai were a little challenging, but there wasn't any problem killing undead at that level, whether spawned by me or anybody else.
tl;dr I'd be happy with a minimum mob level, if only to stop people whining about underlevel toons wrecking their fun. You need dust to craft the 20+ items, and with those drop rates, there's no way I'm gonna spend 500 hours getting motes together to buy one.
As always I really enjoy this event. This year with the 26-28 level Epic characters I was hoping for a little extra and with the addition of some new MOBs I got it. Played it on my level 26 Bard in the 26-30 instance and only had 3 real issues:
1. Some of the MOBs were to low level to count for drops.
2. The overall drop rate for trade-ins after playing for about 2-3 hours seemed a little low, maybe it's just me.
3. The lag in the Dragon quest was (as usual) a big problem. It's the same problem as last year. You really need to dedicate some more servers to this event.
Overall I really enjoyed it, and look forward to playing more.
PS. Please give us another preview period of this.
I agree , would be a great boost to the monster Manual Kills.
Another preview is also a great idea.
I enjoyed my run through with a Lvl 5 Cleric. There seemed to be more
Skeleton Mages than previous years, but I did have an issue with targeting.
In fact I couldn't target at all.
One run through didn't spawn even one undead and I covered the entire map.
I still enjoyed being there.. Mabar Festival is fun.
Adjusting the Mote cost for the Fangs and Dust will probably be the simplest work-around. I would recommend creating an implementation of that, just in case, before getting to serious work on the drop rates and actually fixing the problem, which may not be doable in time. But that's just me.
The Mummies sliding out from under bushes wasn't WAI? Things I Learn.
What about the Shadar-Kai? People in my parties didn't like them much. Especially they way they aggro on the caster of pretty much any AoE, and seem to have very generous tethers. Throw in the over-spawn problem, and they're like army ants armed with manriki kusari and a bigger obsession than Glenn Close. If there were fewer spawn points, but they were sneakier, that might be fun. But as is, we hates them.
I won't belabour the lag, as that dead horse is fully flattened by now.
I want to know about the over-spawn issue (which does seem to contribute to lag events too... poor horsey...)
- Is the cause of the problem known to the Devs?
- Is a fix possibly in the works, this year? Or any year?
- Is a last resort simply to not allow raid sized parties into Deleras?
- Is there any information that can be shared with us to help us avoid causing these events?
- What's up with the too weak for reward issue. Can you tell us anything about it?
It was nice to get some response back, for those of use who took time to share our observations. Thank you.
I look forward to the idea of y'all sharing more information with out.
I think we can take your caveat and not turn around and take your optimistic intentions as promises.

What about all the other far under level characters there NOT killing a thing? The ones just standing around, dancing, following large parties around, and not engaging MOBs? The same ones that like to state that they can go anywhere?
Level lock it Turbine!! It's a must!
Edit: Just seen your post Hendrik. Exactly his attitude.

It is the same as a bunch of kids hanging outside a store that has a sign hung up that states "no loitering" and they not leaving because "they aren't hurting anything."
Just because you can go somewhere, does not mean you should.
I have been playing DDO as a VIP for a few years now, and challenges like mabar and crystal cove are by far the most boring part of the game I have encountered. While the story line is that 'Delera's graveyard is under attack by undeads,' it feels more like 'run around and hope to see some undeads spawn near you.' It feels like being trapped in the smallest slayer map where spellcasters can't hurt anything unless they manually target it first, where there are no shrines. Add to this the long periods of running around and seeing no mobs at all, or waiting interminably for them to spawn, makes it difficult to stomach. For those who can tolerate it, there are some decent rewards. I know that mindless repetition is part of the game, but mindless repetition of things which are really boring to start with is a bit much. If there were a seriously aggressive undead army marauding, instead of a couple wandering around not attacking anyone, it might be slightly less monotonous, also, if it happened on a much larger map, it might be tolerable for me. It doesn't matter how nice the rewards can be, if it's no fun to get them I'm not going to play.
I've already said that I would love to see Turbine change the instances so that in an X-Y instance no mobs below CR X can spawn. That's how it should have been from the start. If I'm in an X-Y instance it's because I want to fight mobs with those levels. If people are there for other reasons, they shouldn't affect those who are there to kill stuff.
Adding a bit more challenge to at-level mobs would be nice too. They're mostly pushovers.
And by the way, the fact that people of all levels are offered the opportunity to go into any instance suggests to most players that that is an entirely reasonable option for them. Those who are informed of the problem and then stay on purpose anyway are being jerks. But on the whole, this mess is entirely due to how Turbine has the instances set up, and they could fix it very easily. Why they do not is yet another in an endless series of mysteries with regard to their priorities.
1. 20/8 Sorc in a lvl 26-30 instance. Received *several* of the "monster was too low level to give a reward" messages. If I'm max level running in a max level instance, I shouldn't be dealing with that sort of thing. It's especially annoying since the monsters giving this message certainly weren't too low of a level to kill me deader than disco with if I were to stand around for a few seconds!
2. Managed to get in on one Summoning run, manning a lever station, killed by gargoyles. While dead, the dragon was slain. I received neither a sigil nor a dragon scale. General chat indicated that I received one of each, but neither was in my general inventory or in my collectables bag.
I am, however, happy to see that vampire fangs are now classified as collectibles and can be stored as such.
FYI, when I summon an earth elemental, it's not a "he," it's a "she." And her name is Pebbles.
I (mostly) enjoyed the event.
However, I encountered 3 issues, one major and two minor.
For reference, I was lvl 26 at the time, in the max level version.
1) (major) While in the summoning area trying to kill the dragon, we got hit with so much lag that we failed. It wouldn't be such a big deal if we could just try again, but when trying a kill consumes a key, is on a timer and you can't try it anytime, this is a very severe issue.
2) (minor) Killing vampires did not seem to ever generate a Vampire Fang. I was in a raid group of 12 farming for about an hour. We got plenty of Lich Dust across all players, but not a single Fang. Either we were extremely unlucky or the drop rate is bugged.
3) (minor) Every once in a while, I would see a message that the mob killed was too low to generate a drop. This should never happen in the max level version.
ran in 20-25 area, no vampires to be found, and the liches did so much damage it seemed a little over the top. luckily they were easy enough to take down. also the spawn rate was a tad slow and i think the goal of 15000 turn ins is absolutly rediculous. if i did already have stuff to upgrade that would make me skip the event by itself. still considering skipping it if its that high and takes 6 hours between dragon runs.
Finally event doors open, zoned into dragon area used spectral key, seemed ok at first.
then after 10 minutes the event starts i drop down to protect the alter and the lag starts really badly.
I couldn't move at all, everyone was experiencing it and eventually after 10 minutes the entire raid wipes.
I release and i am still lagged out and cant move in the necropolis. I quit the game and play something else.
Rubbish servers. i want my spectral key back those things take a long time to get.
not to mention the 3 hours+ it took for the event to happen.
Is this a problem with my computer or bandwidth - I immediately jump into Warcraft with 0 issues and play for several hours.
Graphics max or min doesn't matter the servers or the bandwidth in this game is garbage and needs replacing or fixing.
constant stuttering spikes that the whole party gets is not a problem at our end so stop selling that junk.
Please Note: This was on Monday/Tuesday but happens more often with the population growing in this game.

Lag in the graveyard was at times crippling. I also experienced invis Vampires. Keys seemed to drop pretty often (16-19 lvl zone) but I didn't really track the other drops. Count number seemed to be way off as I remember there still being thousands to go and poof doors opened. Had a great bunch fighting the dragon and we whooped his butt. Can't wait for the return as I need that tome for my multi TR character...never hits epic levels so only one tome at +3.
