    Question Planning my first GS.

Hey guys, i've come here looking for advice on my first green steel item. Im planning on making a gs accesory with concc opp, but i can't make up my mind on what properties to add, how to build it the best way or wether a different build would be better. My cleric is level 20, mainly a healer and evo/necro spellcaster. Thanks for any advice or guide, take care all.

So far, i've got this on my mind:

    Let me hear your thoughts.

    From the planner:
Green Steel Goggles, Wizardry VI, +1 Intelligence Skills (Exceptional Bonus) , +50 Spell Points, +2 Charisma Skills (Exceptional Bonus), +100 Spell Points, +3 Charisma Skills (Exceptional Bonus)
    +10 Diplomacy, +10 Haggle, +6 Wisdom
On-being-hit chance, gain 30 temporary hit points or restore 22-32 spell points, 4% chance on each
The Tier-1 enhancement "Wizardry 6" does not stack with ArchMagi (or Wizardry 9 or better). Selecting Wizardry for Tier-1 may not be optimal.

The way GS bonus to skills works has been changed. They no longer stack, their values have been doubled, and the planner has not been updated to reflect the change.

You might be better off with +CHA skills on Tier 3 (unavoidable for Conc-Opp), +INT skills on Tier-2 (also gives spell points), and +CON skills on tier-1 (gives +10HP).

Thanks for the quick reply. I haven't found an updated planner, would be glad if i could be pointed to one. For the moment, this planner seems the most updated: http://www.iro.umontreal.ca/~delalle...2_int,ee_1_con Would this be a good build?

The PerfectWeb planner is great - no need to look for another one as long as you area aware of the change to GS +SKILL stacking rules and that Tier-1 is now +2, Tier-2 is now +4, and Tier-3 is now +6.

I'm sure jjflanigan will make these minor revisions to the planner as soon as time permits. We're expected to work around much more egregious errors in the game.

The item you linked using the iro.umontreal planner would be fine.

The hardest thing in planning GS items is thinking which equipment slot to use for the item.

I would also recommend considering 10/15/20 HP over all other options. As a Cleric, your Radiant Aura is one of your most powerful healing abilities, and that means that you will be in the thick of things a lot.

If your HP are low, you'll be spending spellpoints on emergency self-healing, and also on neutralising mobs that are on you. If your HP are higher, you can take the hits, save those SP instead, and let your aura patch you up passively over time.

Presently my Clr17/Ftr1/Mnk2 build (which will be reincarnated soon, likely to Clr17/Pal2/Ftr1), is using a Supreme Tyrant Belt of Ash (10/15/20 HP, some skills including Balance, and 5% chance on me being hit for my attacker to be hit by the spell Enervation), and also a Supreme Tyrant Cloak of Smoke (Fire resist 30, 50 SP, 100 SP, Displacement clickie, permanent Blur). However, on hitting level 28, I may retire the cloak as there are just so many other options for high level gear (I'd still swap it in at shrines in harder content and flick it off once buffs are cast). The HP, however, you just don't outgrow and IMO can't live without.
    I don't have a zerging problem.

    I'm zerging. That's YOUR problem.

Skills should now be updated per the following changes:

    +1 Exceptional changed to +2 (Non-Stacking)
    +2 Exceptional changed to +4 (Non-Stacking)
    +3 Exceptional changed to +6 (Non-Stacking)

Feel free to PM me if there are any other recipe / effect changes I've missed.

Coaty beat me to the major points. ;-) Basically, the Wizardry at tier 1 hasn't really been very good for quite awhile now. You will want a much stronger spell point item than that, so it becomes a wasted mod! He was also dead on in that you want to alternate between CHA skills +6 and INT skills +4 for tiers 3 and 2. The planner is a bit outdated in that it calls them +3 and +2.

So if you are dead set on a ConcOp Spell Point item, that would look like: http://www.iro.umontreal.ca/~delalle..._2_int&altar=3
Either Minor Good Guard (meh), +10 HP (better!), or Lesser Regeneration (super meh!). Wizardry, +5 Will saves, and Healing Lore are all mods that were kind of nifty at the time, but since then have been blown past without any update the GS gear.

Another option is to make yourself a ConcOp Hit Point item. This is the route that I prefer, since usually the Spell Point item I only wear when entering a dungeon and then remove after buffing. A ConcOp HP item would look like: http://www.iro.umontreal.ca/~delalle..._1_con&altar=3

It might be a good idea to think ahead before making your first GS item to what your second, and maybe third will be. You seem confidant that you want a ConcOp item. Will your next one perhaps be a Displace clicky? Will you go with separate HP and SP items, or mix the two to make different combinations, just so long as you end up with all 5 in the end?

Thanks alot for the builds and advice. I'd rather like the hp concop item, having an 175sp item already, but more sp the better i think. Sometimes i feel like my spell points are never enough, even tough i use my bursts/auras to heal. But my damage comes all from spells, that's why i want the sp concop. Anyway, my second gs would be the one i don't make this time: either the hp or sp items. If i ever got to make a third, i don't know then xD.

i would go blindness immunity instead of wizardy VI (it gives something more iirc) this way the only thing that would get outdated would be the 6 wisdom, don't think u use the diplo, etc etc XD

also there aren't much options to get conc opp, turbine could have made some effort and add some variety (so u could have bonus to 3 skills, some bigger some smaller)

go hp or go sp, sp is situational for buffs, ppl say, but well u can craft a gs hp of smoke(permablur + displacement clicky) and have both always on ^_^u i use to forget swapping items on, so the best situational gear, the better, isn't the most optimal in every circumstance? not needed for ddo

conc opp is great because u recover sp, so craft it, with hp or sp, but don't swap it XD als oavoid being hit, the sp is useful but some smacks hurt lol

also my conc opp sp are goggles, my gs hp is belt
psykopeta - hoarding pl, for the sake of hoarding, the day i become ubercompletionist will be because there isn't anything to delay it more - thelanis, where the gimps claim to be pros and noobs claim to be pros, no newbies allowed(unless they claim to be pros), we have enough drama w/o them. PS i'm not a pro, maybe if i reincarnate in RL...

Thanks all for the replies, this feels just like the old forums xD. Anyway, i've decided to do this: http://crafting.cubicleninja.com/ind...1=20&bonus2=65 I feel this is the way to go, and hope everything turns right. Im getting charisma skills so i can umd' something xD. Im slotting on Necklace because i haven't found any necklace helpful to me that i can get (Having only reaver's and vale).

Any opinion or advice would be most helpful, thank you.
