I fully understand this as I have seen it done many times. My answer was a bit tongue and cheek, but still true to an extent.

I also stated that I never used this one. But, let’s play hypothetical. How would it bother you if instead of completing a quest in 10 minutes, it only took me 5 because of this “bug”? Let me rephrase that. If you are sucking down 50% xp pots while on the tr train, you will out level me in a hurry. Is that fair? Does that ruin the integrity of the game? I guess not if you are willing to pay. I guess ottos box do not ruin the integrity of the game either as they allow you to level faster.

I am not condoning cheating, and am not asking Turbine to turn a blind eye to this. I just wonder why we needed another thread on the issue, and I wanted to see all of the hypocrites come out.

p.s. Because I love you and I love watching train wrecks; ED’s are P2W and have been the most potent thing added to the game. Maybe Turbine has turned a blind eye to this in hopes that a few more people will buy ed’s.

This is exactly right. Turbine has a very tough time making this game tough enough for a hard core person, yet easy enough for the very casual.

    So much truth there

XP pots - No problem pay and you take 50% less time, roughly, to get back to 20
Stone - No problem pay and you just ignore lvl 1- 18 or whatever ... i have never actually bought a stone!

But save a few minutes / hours by using ED abilities and the commuity goes up in flames!

    +1

I love knowing that the majority of people complaining here about others getting an advantage are the same ones that use the store daily to get an ADVANTAGE over others

I don't care if it speeds things up. I don't care that I have an xp pot running. I don't care if it makes your time faster. I don't care if you have an xp pot running. I don't care if you are having fun with a bug. I don't care if you don't want to feel challenged at low levels.

I care that you are taking what little is left of my challenge away from me. I care you are taking the fun out of questing for me. Your problem with time is not my problem.

Sorry but i dont agree to this - how i play does not affect you. Just dont group with me. And as i have said before if we set the rules when we group then i will follow them or leave the group be they:

    1) Perma death
    2) Naked runs
    3) Dont use ED abilities
    etc etc

If its not WAI then Turbine Fix it

If you dont like the way i play then play your way without me ... worst case scenario - oh no 1-3 minutes into a 5 min Heroic level Quest run you find out i am using an ED and you have to drop group ... i ruined your fun .. i mean come on

Heck if i chose to just play on normal thats my choice and i could blast through everything all day long and make beleive in a make beleive world that i am a make beleive God!

My fun does not take away from your fun

    Default Put Simply

Cheating in a multiplayer game is pathetic and affects others, wether they are opponents or teammates.

Ive known about this bug since it was first possible and yet i only recently started posting about it, this is due to the fact that people stopped using it solo or with trusted friends(because its an exploit and they didnt want to get banned) and started abusing it in pugs, abusing it so aggresively and obviously it actually seems like they are trying to grief other players.

As an example, i was in a group where a new player was trying desperately to contribute to the group, at some point he realised that if he wanted to kill anything he had to avoid groups because the exploiting tr was bursting and screaming and doing some other aoe twist that i cant recall. So this guy gets a mob to himself and hes killing it, gets it down to maybe 1/4 health, one shot territory for him and the tr runs over and screams it down, it was completely obnoxious and showed a total lack of respect for anyone elses gaming experience.

Ive seen similar scenarios many times now, my use of the word pathetic for using this exploit in pugs is accurate.

Lol, stop it! That new player would have the same **** happen to him with any decent player. Or god help him when he meets casters lv6 and up. He'l just uninstall thinking he will never kill any thing.

This arguement is more valid but personally i would not and do not do this to newbies and again the whole arguement of Vets soloing until higher level remains there.

Though sadly you can almost (albeit not exactly the same) achieve this with a highly experienced , twinked out Vet

Use of the store is NOT using an in game bug to gain an advantage over others.

Your comparison might have some credibility if one was able to use the store without spending points.

At least compare apples to apples.

The attempts to justify one's cheating in a game is pathetic - not directed at you Vint.

I hope this is fixed fast so we can move on to the complaining of how this easy button was taken away and how hard the game is now without it.

Isn't that the best solution all around right now though?

Rather than whining (Note: I'm not saying you are whining specifically, but this is, what? The fifth sodding thread on it in as many days now?).

Simply don't group with such people.

Let's face it, this will get fixed. It helps players.

Other bugs that don't help players? Ask again in another seven years.

Rly though... :/ Using the store where another person does not have equal access to resources for that same store is considered an advantage of resources. Like, for example friends of mine in say Mexico? Buying a 50 US dollar Otto's Stone is equivalent to them eating at Peter Luger's Steakhouse. Apples you say.

    Default "decent"

Thats quite a liberal use of the word decent, players that do things like that are jackasses.

And you are incorrect, twist abuse allows far more efficient killing both manawise and timewise, so new player are able to contribute more when noone exploits.

Additionally, some of the twists get stronger with spellpower and scale with melee damage so continue to be crazy powerful all the way up to lvl 20, people saying that this is only broken at low level dont know how to get the most from eds for their build.

This is getting fixed, according to the Dev's.
Until it does, all anyone can really do is deal with it.

At least now those that point the finger at Turbine yelling "You always insta-fix anything that benefits players and wait around forever to fix those bugs that hurt us" can go sit quietly for a while in the corner, their argument just got snuffed.
