    Default U19: Battle Crazed Paladin

The basis behind this was I have liked how Half Orc's look, and I wanted to combine them with Paladin into a build worthy of EE content. This is not nearly as detailed as my last build post, simply because I did not have the energy or time to get into it. With Divine Sacrifice, Exalted Smites, Holy Retribution(which I actually think is awesome) plus all the other melee feats everyone has these days. It is really going to be taking chunks out of anything that stands in front of it.

Here is a link to YourDDO view of my character if anyone is interested. http://ddocrafting.info/myddo/argonnessen/Jadokis/

Doesn't look like you're adding much in the way of ftr enhs; in which case, instead of ftr 4, what about ftr 2 with either a rgr splash for Bow STR+Rapid Shot (can drop WF:Ranged) or monk splash for +1 feat and Evasion?

Did they change divine might to no longer give Insight bonus to str? I ask because i saw insight bonus in your stat list and divine might listed under buffed. Not played my little paladin much but divine might shows as an insight bonus. Maybe its an error ingame or stacks anyway, not much experience on paladins.

Insightful item doesn't stack with divine might. This is unfortunately WAI.

TBH I'm staying away from evasion splashes with this toon. Would it be better? Sure you could argue that. But this game is all about having fun playing, not playing the best/uber build.

Heh I totally forgot about the 2 Ranger splash. That actually works better as it frees up some feats, and gives me a small boost to Fort/Reflex saves. That being said, I might just keep it as is for flavor purposes. I can't really see any feat that I need/want that I don't already have.

    @smeggy1384
The Insightful bonus in STR is from my Helm of the Black Dragon, while the Divine Might is seperate from that. With a 34 Charisma, Divine Might gives me +12 to Strength, but because I already have the +3 Insightful its only +9.

Adding a small Ranger splash and the potential for 30,000 hp (Fury Shot) of damage in 15 seconds certainly goes with the title of the build....

I still have Manyshot with or without the 2 Ranger splash. I am personally not a fan of FotW outside of primarily ranged characters, so I stick with LD.

I take back what I said about not seeing any feat I would like to take. The 2 Ranger splash frees up my feat at 27, where I would grab Blinding Speed. I will have to take a bit and rearrange the leveling guide/feat selection in a bit with the most updated version.

Really? I thought FotW was the go-to ED for DPS pallies; everyone's all about the Adrenalized Smites, it seems. The fact you'd have Furyshot as well seems like a no-brainer...

I'm a Blitzer at heart. I could give FotW another shot, but I've stuck primarily to LD for Blitz. I just never really liked it when I still had my Barbarian. Couldn't generate Adrenaline's back fast enough.

If I'm running in a raid or in a high DPS group, I run in Fury. (Hard to keep Blitz running). If Solo'ing or running with a low DPS or seemingly bad pug, I run in LD. I DO like the added CC from Fury and love Adrenaline Smites!

Yeah lately the groups I had been running in were setup so that we could easily sustain two Blitzer's, and I've been TRing so much that haven't really been in any raids with him yet.

Another thing that I totally forgot about which is why I hadn't ever used Fury before, is that while in Defensive Stance you can't use Adrenaline. Which isn't as big of an issue now as it used to be, with the nerf to non S&B toons, but I use it for the +25 PRR, +3 Saves for the more difficult fights.

I'd also like to update that I ended up splashing two levels of Monk into this, instead of taking the third and fourth levels of Fighter. I decided to stop being stubborn and the upside of having evasion on this build is just way too good to pass up. I will have to make a Black Dragonhide armor so I don't lose too much PRR by switching out of Heavy Armor. I also changed my enhancements a lot so I will update the OP soon.

Just wanted to note that I've made some changes to the build after running it in epics/harder content. Going to be a while til I update the build, still sitting at 21 but already switched a good amount of things.

I'm really loving this build though, figuring out how to use Divine Might + Holy Retribution is a huge DPS boost, especially while using Kensai: Haste Boost. Going between Divine Sacrifice, Holy Retribution and Exalted Smites is awesome against trash, and end bosses I can go all out for some uber DPS. Haven't tried Fury of the Wild yet, but Adrenaline Overload with those three abilities would give some amazing numbers.

Self sufficiency is very good as well, although with the healing amp bug it gets a bit harder once I've died unless I restart my client.

This is frighteningly close to a 16 Paladin/2 Monk/2 Fighter Half-Orc build I had in mind tentatively called the 'Hammer of the Gods', wielding Mauls as a weapon of choice and delivering Stuns left, right and centre!

While I had some nuances I wanted to work out (the interplay between twisting Anvil of Thunder from LD, Stunning Blow and auto-helpless from Overwhelming Force anyway), the main bugbear that put me off developing the build further was that when it comes to Smites and the original weapon damage based Divine Might, TWF is just so much superior when you can get twice the effect for the same cost.

Of course, Divine Might is now (roughly, fairly even?) balanced between TWF and THF, but Smites do still stand up better when Proc'd twice.

What are your thoughts on this?

Not to threadjack OP, but: why don't you build for TWF using dual Mornhs (or Mornh+drow warhammer)? In which case, I might consider dwarf for +3 Tactics DC and +dmg to hammers.

Shameless plug: when I put together my Faithsworn Hunter, the original concept was to take advantage of all the STR bonuses (Power Surge+Divine Might+Ram's Might) for a tactics-oriented dwarf build; but I found the feats & APs tighter than I would've liked, so I switched to a more generic DPS focus. You might be able to come up with something cleverer than me, though.

Well TWF has taken a huge hit from what it used to be, and I'm not sure that it would actually be better. You don't get offhand procs on Cleave/Great Cleave/Momentum Swing/Lay Waste which is a huge DPS loss. I just haven;t been a big fan of TWF since it was nerfed, and Half Orc loses a lot of its melee prowess when you switch from THF to TWF.

Another quick note is that I am going to switch this into Half Elf. I talked with a friend who had made a 600+ healing amp build, and realized that I wasn't properly calculating it. Half Elf would be around 300% with gear/enh/PL where Half Orc is ~200%. Then when you add in ship buff, and 20% and 10% from GS Kama Half Elf is boosted to ~437%.

Interesting. Considering I wanted to go FotW and twist Anvil of Thunder, that really leaves Lay Waste out anyway. But true, Cleave & Great Cleave do really benefit THF over TWF, though usually I find I'm taking both Cleaves on a TWF build anyway in wanting Overwhelming Critical.

Your comments on Healing Amp make me suspicious - is each individual enhancement bonus to Heal Amp calculated separately now? Aka, Half-Elf Improved Recovery and full Monk Dilletante calculated at Base * 1.1 * 1.1 *1.1 * 1.1 instead of Base *1.2 *1.2 ? I think this may call for some Scroll testing.
