The base xp for the quests in the vale is between 7800 and 10000. Most of those quests take between 20 and 30 minutes to complete.
The reason why I don't run them often is that they're longer, more difficult than the meridian quests, and give less xp. In addition, green steel is still very relevant while the amarath tod sets aren't slotted as often now.

Last night did Coal. It was like 60k bravery bonus / etc. It was awesome.
Part of the issue w/ Amrath is simply time. Monestary is good XP, but like Amrath it's a pain to get to for most players. Big enough guilds with planescallers can make a bit of difference, but frankly it still isn't that fast. Besides, I can at least get Shroud mats, so maybe I'll just run the Vale again, etc. etc.
Part of the issue is that the game still encourages you to hold at 18. Since you can't get into epic quests, taking 19 is really not mechanically encouraged - you just restrict your pool unnecessarily.
Ghallanda - now with fewer alts and more ghostbane

I’m running maybe 5 levels over the quest level? I’m still pulling anywhere from 10 – 15K XP without BB and all of these XP boosters?
Granted I’m not one of those people who looks at this stuff really closely, but just casual observation tells me that maybe the base XP is not what everyone assumes it is?
And I’ve been in a few of those zerg groups on a few of those Amrath quests. I would dispute that it takes zergers an hour to run them. Maybe New Invasion (which the end fight sucks eggs), but I’ve seen those run in way less than an hour, with the right people.
I pretty much disagree...
I can do MANY quests in about 10 minutes that net around 25k at level 26.
I've spent well over an hour in those quests at level, only to wipe to not understanding the mechanics.
Contrast it with Enter the Kobold. Level 17, you can nail ~20k each run, it takes about 10 minutes.
I think that now that XP doesn't taper off, it only further diminishes the reason to EVER spend 40-50 minutes to get 30k, when you can get 20k 4 to 5 times over in that same time span.
Also, people say it's not bad. That is their 20th run, and they understand the fights, the mechanics, the mazes, the boss fights. You step in there level 18/19 first time thru, and you SUFFER thru that place, and you'll sing a different tune. Sure you can look up all the maps, all the boss tactics, and spend 1/2 your time meta gaming it. However, you open the door, walk in, and attempt to do it sight unseen, it is one of the most challenging quest sets, and it also has abysmal XP for the PAIN you will suffer doing them.
In terms of an elite streakers doing every quest once, Amrath isn't terrible. The per-quest xp is okay.
In terms of xp/minute it's atrocious.
The xp is completely unbalanced when compared to the Vale. In the Vale you are guaranteed a completion on Elite at level(sometimes in PUGs that first large room in RWTD separates the wheat from the chaff, but you go slower and you are going to make it).
A New Invasion, for all that it takes on Elite at level should net you way more than the level 9(11 at level) Von3 quest. Especially when the end is as difficult as it is and not really a guaranteed completion compared to most other quests.
Yes Yugo is awesome, but once you've got favor, you buy a **** ton and don't run out for a few lives.
Genesis? xp per minute? Fffffffffaarrrrt.
Boost xp and obsolete TOD sets be damned, there will be more more more LFMs and people running them to cap.
Oh, and weapons shipment of course, extremely low XP/time, but at least it gives shiny bauble with a 0.00000000001% droprate.
The real issue is cannith, low XP for long quests, they give like 12k on a first elite run for 30 mins or so, THAT is horrible XP/min
Ainevek: 9/6/2 FvS/ranger/paladin (life 2/?) Shinweng: 8/5/2 monk/wizard/paladin (life 4/3?Abaranda: 18/2 FvS/monk (life 7/?) Kevenia: 6 sorcerer (life 2/?)
Two handed chruchers, Ghallanda
Amrath is one of my favorite areas but with xp and TOD sets being borked, I can't be bothered on a TR turnaround.
Way back, about a month after MotU was released, they changed the over-level penalty calculation for all quests of CR 20 or higher. A base-19 quest on Elite is CR 21, and gets an effective +2 from that adjustment. As a result, a level 24 gets no over-level penalty at all, and a level 25 only -10% of base.
(Note that the logic for Bravery isn't EXACTLY the same...unlike the over-level penalty calculation, it only applies when the quest BASE level is 20 or higher. So 18s on Elite, and 19s on Hard or Elite are wonky. For Amrath Elite, 21 for Bravery, but 24 for 100% XP without Bravery. You can get Bravery Bonus on ToD though, with level 24s.)

Is it an XP / min thing, or are there other reasons? Could it be that they are just plain easy XP buy comparison?
