Ran a few Dreaming Darks with some guildies tonight to find that the "quest abandon" third run reward trick has been changed. When prompted you are informed that your are unable to abandon the quest, which in essence means a lot more runs to farm your discs/ioun stones and, I presume, IQ gear. I checked the u19 patch notes and there is nothing in there hinting at the change, though it wouldn't be the first time an unpopular fix has been kept quiet. Am I missing a dev announcement?
While the tactic did seem odd, its not like there are a lot of people running this content, and to abandon the quest mandates at least another run. Was this change really necessary? Surely the sort of player who puts in 10 - 15 runs for discs will also put in 30. What have you achieved by altering this? Must we sink more time into zerg completions? Can't say I have seen a stream of players breezing quests with this loot. If I have missed something I apologise, but it seems that if introducing a serious mechanic change like this, Turbine could have been upfront about it.
