Default So this time last year........

Mabar! I am curious if we will get the Mabar festivities in September again. I know everyone is looking forward to its continuous lag and lack of adequate kill rewards.

I find that Mabar is a very good time to take a break from DDO and catch up on some reading.

Looks like it will be. Logged onto Lamannia and was auto granted "Find Mabar" quest. Here comes more crippling lag!

We actually didn't get Mabar until November last year, due to the event breaking the week it was supposed to launch....

That being said, i'm excited for it to return, it's my favorite event!!!

Agh! I dont think I could hate anything more than Crystal Cove!!! Those annoying Kobold voices!!! Will I ever get them out of my head?!?!? (And the last time I ran CC was in...hmm....2011...and it will be THE last time).

I rather enjoyed Mabar the last time I ran it, which was 2011. Got some decent gear for my PM out of it too. My goal was to get lvl 4, 8, 12, 16, 20 cloak/robe sets for him, so he'd have the gear as he leveled (TR twink gear obv). Have the lvl 12 and 16 sets now. Though I hear they've discontinued the cloak, and that sucks.

One other thought: I do think, with the lag problems that are going on now, it might be a good idea for the devs to take a look at fixing this lag before they introduce Mabar and pile Mabar lag on top of the current lag, or maybe nobody will even be able to play the game at all.

All that is wrong with DDO, life, taxes, poltics, religion, music, fast food, education, the criminal justice system, the weather, society, the universe, and previously-discontinued-but-now-on-their-way-back snack cakes, is all the fault of Wizards of the Coast. I know this because Fred told me so, and Mind Flayers are smart.

Actually it was sorta twice last year, both Sept/Oct and then again in early Nov (IIRC). I remember, because I ran around in it both times. It was kinda like running around doing a constant Slayer quest (grind grind grind...), but it was worth it to get my cloak... which I'm sad to hear has been disco'd because I was looking forward to upgrading it. I only hope they replace it with something just as awesome.

Are they at least adding some other stuff? edit: Never mind... mmmmm Festival Solar ... I have a thousand suns Great axe that's getting that wonder if Festival frost and solar can both be on the same weapon...

You guys filibustering a new mode have already succeeded in scaring the Dev's into not doing it the right way and re-scaling the existing settings, why in the world are you still filibustering? Drunk on your success? Schadenfreude? Spitefulness?

    Conclusions:
Cloak was too good (it is very good I still can't displace it for any cloak in the game on any toon I have the ML20 cloak on)
Way too many Vamp fangs and Liches dusts filling mule bank spaces
Way too many spectral scales still around
I have 10's of thousands of motes still.

So the question is how many people with Jobs and a Life are going to be able to get +6 tome and +5 tome? In other words how many signets are needed...

Looks like 3 for the +5 and 4 for the +6. So 3-4 days farming and killing a dragon since it's one signet per dragon kill per day.

All the old stuff is still there (no upgrades) that is just a list of the new stuff.

I won't be, no matter what carrots they dangle.
I honestly and fervently hate this event. It's the absolute nadir of DDO development, IMHO.

Id say the cove and mabar and now risa can go (blank)

broke * empty zones that achieve the greatest screwups server side, and lock you out of the only reason you even there. News flash, Id like to give the bulk of ddo players the benefit of the doubt and say they have not been dropped repeatedly on their head as a child and as a result just looooooooove to kill thousands of things for jack.
