Default So, how long Crystal Cove ends?

Because not being able to play because of server side lag for upwards of 8 MINUTES kinda takes the fun out of the game.

Easy to tell when Cove opens and your in a Raid or quest, the server lags. Our record today was 8 minutes of not being able to do anything. Earlier one was 6 minutes.

Guess it is either play in the morning when the population is low in hopes that Cove won't lag the server out, stick to 6 man Quests and hope sever lag from Crystal Cove does not wipe your group, don't even attempt a Raid unless it is in the morning, or not play til Crystal Cove is over.

So, when is Cove over so we can get to some form of normal gameplay?

Each time I get a huge crystal pay out it crashes your raid?
Advocating repeated nerfs in the name of "balancing the game" then complaining about how DDO is moving away from D&D, is a direct contradiction in logic - D&D 3.5 (what DDO is based on) is not a balanced game. We can either have a balanced clone MMO with homogenized classes, or we can have a D&D game. We cant have both.

Its not the size of your crystal, it is how you use it.

Due to the multiple timezones DDO is available in, "through" usually means the whole of that day, then switching off the next morning when people get into the office to flip the switch for it... so in australia it'll be in the evening, in UK a little after lunch or so, and in USA about 9am maybe?

As I sat there last night, methodically converting emeralds to rubies, and diamonds to sapphires, etc. all the way down to alabasters and pyrites ONE. CLICK. AFTER. ANOTHER....

I couldn't help but think that's the cause of crippling CC lag.

Devs - maybe an option in the box to allow me to convert 10 at a time???

Ok, i have a question. If the lag is server side, shouldn't everyone experience it? Last night we were in a shroud raid during prime time, and two of the people in the raid, both of whom play from Canada, had uncanny amounts of lag. Actually a delay in the action of a minute or more for them.

Now here's where it gets weird. As far as i know, nobody else in the group had this, and i know for certain i didn't.

I haven't experienced any lag outside of the ordinary during the entirety of the event. If fact, the only time i have noticed any type of event lag was during Mabar, and that was only when i was actually in the dragon chamber.

So what i don't understand is, if it is truly server side, why doesn't it affect me?

That sounds more like network related lag than it does server lag directly. Then again I don't know how the server handles old data either.

The second part to remember, is that the "server" is really a cluster, aka several PCs working together that looks like a single "server". The PC (that you are on) may be lagging, but others aren't on the same one. Hence why people on the same server may not see lag in one instance but others will at the same time.

    Lastly, Kobolds hate you.

I am a little confused with your clustering statement, this may be a lack of knowledge on my part, it's been afew years since I was in a techie role, but my undertanding, if memory serves me correctly, is that you would cluster for DRP purposes and fail over. So you would cluster in an active-active cluster or active-passive cluster things like SQL DBs or Exchange (LDAP) but you would use NLB (Network Load Balancing) for performance and load balancing on your IIS front end to distribute the load across servers.
