So I have heard from various sources that one of Turbine's proposals for the future is to introduce epic reincarnation where you can go back to level 20 and lose all of your epic destiny xp and start all over again.
I, like many players, have invested a great deal of time, money, and effort into playing this game. I maxed out all my epic destinies, and it was HARD work. It was NOT fun, but it was something I did because the sense of achievement was worth it, even if that achievement had minimal direct impact on game play.
And now the proposal is to take that achievement away and give me some token scraps of garbage in return?
I don't want a single destiny, I maxed them all! I don't want fate points, what good are fate points without destinies to spend them on?
I want what I earned!
If the game is changed in such a way as to completely erase the time and effort I have put in, the message I get from that is: My time and effort have absolutely no value as far as the developers are concerned and they will give me nothing for them.
I'm not necessarily that experienced with how service industries work but I hear that in general it's a bad idea to treat your paying customers that way, because if you do they may decide : know what? I'm going to go play a console game where at least some expletive can't come along later and erase my achievements.
With the money I've spent on DDO I could go out and buy a next-gen console AND a bunch of games, and I'm still playing. Why would I continue to do that if this change comes into force?
