I do not really personally care what way they show it.. however currently the number is wrong and that I do care about. I have not seen any of my characters to actually have the correct number there. The old way of showing, you could easier see what is wrong with the value, so it would be clearer.

What about handwraps? Last time I checked, it was accurate. Maybe that was sheer coincidence. Meh. Since then, if I care about damage of weapon A versus B, I just work it out myself.

4. The values showing for "elemental" V affix also do not give complete information.

5d4 gives all the information you need to know the distribution of the dice rolls. With 5-20 we have to guess the distribution yourself. When you see 5-20, it is intuitive to assume that each value has 1/16th chance of appearing, which would be 4+1d16 roll. Giving no information about the distribution leaves it open to interpretation and is mathematically very inconcise. I hate that change.

Does it matter?
4+(1d16) has a min of 5, max of 20 - an average of 25/2, or 12+1/2.
5d4 has a min of 4, max of 20 - an average of 25/2, or 12+1/2.

They're inconsistent.

When I look at my Inventory Detail drop-down, I'm currently seeing 7.5[1d6]+35 for damage on my handwraps and (8-22) on my repeater. When I mouse-over the repeater itself I can see that it is 2[1d8]+6.

The [W] notation works fine and is used heavily in enhancement and weapon descriptions, so I'd say that the (X-Y) number range option is the mistake and should be replaced.

While the outcome space and the means are the same, the variance and probabilities of each outcome are not. 5d4 has a much larger probability mass around the mean, giving you relatively more consistent outcomes in comparison.
