I will admit, at one time (before my Family based guild hit 60) I would have encouraged Player housing.
However- it takes a great deal of ineptitude to single-handedly turn me against an idea. Bravo OP.
Your proposal was unnecessarily complicated. Also the fact that you chose to ignore the other 50% of that quote (namely the NEW CLASS), leaves my to wonder about your basic reading skills.
Now if I was saying in general what they should spend Zots on then the top two are a couple of quality of life patches and adding epic versions of all raids.
At the end of the day Turbine could reinvigorate the raid scene if they chose too, unfortunately it seems like they think things like player housing would be a worthwhile use of dev time.
Disclaimer: I'm not a fan of player housing but if it is implemented this is what I would like to see:
- You either get a free base house, a free VIP Manor, or various Premium versions, from the Manor and up.
House has storage, some trophy stands, some buffs (purchaseable with plat) a PVP pit in some of the more expensive options etc etc. The bigger the house, the more storage, buffs etc.
- Here's the main thing I would like to see with player housing though, each house dependent on it's size has a customizable basement/dungeon.
This can range from a fair amount of space and options for the free house to an absolutely monstrous labyrinth for the biggest most expensive houses.
This dungeon can then be built into a quest like scenario, with the owner of the house posting their dungeon in the lfms for others to join and play through, a certain amount of xp could be given once the dungeon is completed, with both Ransack on chests and xp for players dungeons, to avoid over abuse though if implemented properly the xp could be relative to a time spent in dungeon multiplied by the Dungeons posted level, this level is calculated using Feathers fantastic charts and the dungeon is only accessible o players 3 levels above or below the posted level.
- Number of chests in any given dungeon are dependent upon House size and proximity to each other within the dungeon, one chest at the end of the dungeon for the base "free" house, up to maybe four chests available in the largest "Castle" Payed dungeon.
- Houses are accessible from the Harbor & Market, from a point similar to the Airship portals and only accessible once partied with the house owner.
-The house owner can choose to play with or against the party at the beginning of the dungeon, with a simple Tool Tab popping up if choosing to play against the party, eg. Setting off traps, basic commands for mobs etc, Manual take over of bosses.
Anyways just some thoughts, I only want customizable player houses if I get a customizable player dungeon to go with them.
Smallmans Syndrome, Rovac, Dragnipur, Prettyhater Machine, Lubed, Castinfist
Emmpeethree, Hyperkill Hyperthrill and Greyvegas (All on Khyber)
Id agree to housing if i could burgle them. Wouldnt buy one, but id rob anyone who did.
Dystopia = utopia achieved
Don't like others buying it?
here ya go:
We know you like it, thanks for the tip.

I guess we get a new thread from this guy every day now. Fantastic.
For the record, I'd rather see the loot "system" revamped fourteen more times, bugs and all, than player housing.
We do not want housing at all.
Think all the posters in all your threads on the topic have made that VERY clear. Only person that has not yet grasped that is you.
We have let him know.
The answer we have given is NO.
I think you're all over thinking this house thing.
I mean really, they haven't found or bothered with a means to auto-update the amenities on the ships. They barely have a way to change what the ship looks like at all beyond a basic color shift, so I do not see picking drapes or windows as a function in any kind of housing.
As I see it, in a real sense, they will sell perhaps, a few different layouts, most likely of varying sizes that will be limited by some e-peen size system like guild renown but now made personal. Much like ships, I see a free option and a paid option.
I would wager they would not even be "houses" but more likely "rooms" rented from a hotel, or public building which would make sense, for even the most heroic player to rent a place to sleep/relax, or just dump his junk on the floor and take a shower after swimming in the sewer.
I would guess they would reuse the Hook Point system, but offer varying sizes of chests, other storage style like items.
The truth is, they have not increased the bank size in years and they explained that it was somehow hard coded into the system to be that limited, and they would need to re-do the entire bank system to make more space, so, it's only natural for Turbine to look at other means to add space to the game, and player Housing is a means to do that.
If some people mistakenly want to think that this will be Barbie-Dress up type deal, I can only figure they do not play this game, or think that Turbine will be able to do what they have never done before in regards to this.
The truth is, players want more storage space. Housing = More Space, and in most players mind a House = 3D bank tab for BtC stuff, and if Turbine has half a clue they will realize that.
A very simple, small room that you pay rent on that you can add a storage chest too.
Now if the OP had gone this route he would have gotten a whole different response from the community instead of coming up with bat **** crazy ideas he has so far.
No House deeds dropped as loot. Really? A Kobold carrying a house deed?
No Companions that go out and farm junk for you.
No Breakable Ransack reset amenity, I mean really?
Can go on and on about the crazy idea's that are not needed from the OP.
Your idea is simple, elegant, and serves a purpose. One that I can get behind.
Increase bank space from 5 tabs of 5x4 to 6 tabs of 6x6 = increase from 100 to 216 slots. Charge me what you like for that and I'll pay it.
Increased inventory space would be ideal too, but I can see that this would involve more UI reworking than just redoing the bank window.
If the Twelve would like to give me a BTC Exclusive Bag of the Twelve that stores spell components, potions and scrolls instead of just making me an Honourary member which gives me nothing then that would be great too.
These ridiculously wild posts on utter fluff and nonsense would just be a waste of valuable developer time to deliver **** that nobody wants.
So incase someone is seriously so dense that they're not getting the message ... we don't need/want housing.

I take moah raids anyday. But if we're talking additional storage and as long as you don't have to spend a fortune - screw raids and bring on storage (I mean housing - sorry - but my mules are tired of carrying my garbage).
