Heyla and well met!
I had recently bought an Elite Guidance of Shar on the Shard exchange. When I withdrew it from the mailbox on my main toon, Oryara, to put it in my shared bank space for another character I had intended it for, I discovered, to my dismay, that it had automatically bound itself to me, when I withdrew it from the mailbox, rather than binding on equip, as the description had said. When I filed a ticket, I was informed by the GM that responded that this functionality is working as intended. So beware to anyone purchasing anything that says "Bind on Equip" on the shard exchange, as they might bind the moment you withdraw it from the mailbox. (Thee is a similar issue with the Quiver of Posion, but that was supposed to be a bug. But if the Guidance binding as soon as it is withdrawn from the mailbox is considered proper functionality, the quiver "bug" will likely remain.)
I just want to make sure that other people don't waste their shards, like I did. And, yes, it was wasted, because Oryara already has a Guidance of Shar (elite) on her. She doesn't need two.
Apparently, there's a function where people are allowed to actually post BtCOE items on the shard exchange. However, it will immediately bind to the person who purchases that item. In order to ensure that it won't do that, we need to actually take a good look at the item's bind status, first. And THIS is functionality that is working as intended, a detail the GM neglected to mention. This is good information, and I'm glad to finally learn of this. I hope other people who don't know about this take a look at this thread, before spending their shards. ^^
I was able to take advice given in this thread, and give the item to the toon I wanted it for. Gave up a few more shards to do it, but it's better than having an item I don't need on my toon.
