    Default Message for Cordova

Cordova, as we have absolutely nothing official in regards to if this problem had anything to do with Pando...if it does have nothing to do with Pando can you at least say Pando is NOT involved in this outages? At least then those of us who are trying to explain how software products can be impacted by the change can tell people; no Pando is/was not involved in this issue and then end that chain of discussion. Else the assumptions are going to continue to fly here and on twitter/facebook for...potentially....no reason.

    That being said:

I'm sure that many people in this thread, as well and many Turbine employees, have been through a fast food drive through. I'm sure that of those people, many have also been asked, after giving their money to the cashier, to pull forward and wait for them to bring your food out, because they couldn't get it ready fast enough. A large portion of those people were probably slightly irritated, or annoyed, especially if they were really hungry.

The average wait time on that situation is 3 minutes, and a lot of people, many of yourselves included, are annoyed.

What if you pulled into McDonalds, paid for your food, were asked to pull forward because "they are working on it" and then let you sit there for 3 days? After 2 or three hours TOPS, you would probably be inside screaming at somebody about awful customer service.

I think some aggravation is to be expected, and is warranted.

The bottom line is, if you pay for a service, you expect to receive it. This is not entitlement, this is a transaction...
Great start and very valid point...

But, if I may... This is not exactly a fast food joint. There is no guarantee concerning time. No 3 min at the drive through, nor 30 min delivery. Perhaps it's just my point of view (which is quite possible, and I hope you don't think that I'm attempting to force my view onto you) but I'm seeing this as being a bit more like any other item I buy or service I pay for.

When I bought my Durango, for example, less than a year went by before I had a recall notice and had to be without my truck for 6 days so they could replace my transmission and three of those days were without a replacement.

Or, when my mother bought her house and had to vacate it a few months later due to a termite infestation and a bit of repair work.

Or, when Katrina wiped out New Orleans (for an extreme example).

Or, when I pay for my paper or magazine subscriptions and there's a service interruption due to weather, strike, mechanical breakdowns or whatever else.

In other words, these things just happen. I don't expect anyone to be happy with it, nor do I expect anyone to "calm down", "grow up" or anything else (though those things would be nice, to be honest). The reality is, we all have the right to our feelings, whatever they may be... But, positive or negative, right or wrong, nice or not... Neither complaints nor compliments are going to help this situation get resolved any faster, but better attitudes might make the atmosphere a bit better in the forums.

For a few of the others who've been posting... Call me a fan boy if you like, or any other "derogatory" if you like, but the simple reality is, I've never had any reason to be overly disappointed by the service of Turbine or DDO. Every time I've had a question or make a call, they've been incredibly helpful. In fact, I've had far more trouble getting help from the community than from them, personally.

You do understand that Pando is use to DOWNLOAD the install files right?

Pando has nothing to do with running the game. Pando is a P2P app. Pando is not an ISP.

If Pando did have something to do with running of the game client, then after we all uninstalled that **** software once the install was done we would not have been able to play.

So how again is a P2P app at fault here for running Turbines external servers?

this is why you have 3 locations for the live servers the main servers are the current severs the other 2 would be located somewhere ABOVE SEA LEVEL.... one in the rockies would be a good start. dry and no rain just snow.

Frankly, I don't give a good gorram about the web ****. I want my game back. I'm not going to give you some spiel about being a paying customer, I'm just trying to say that for the vast majority of us, the game is more important than the website. Now, if the game can't run without the website, then by all means, fix the website first, otherwise you've got a lot of P'd off people wanting to play the game on their day off.

While it's not fully what you're looking for, the LOTRO Twitter account addressed this and said that it was not related to Pando, as Pando was not an ISP.

It has nothing to do with Pando for the simple reason that you can uninstall Pando ( and even install the game without it being installed. ) and still play the game.

Just wanted to say thanks for your work on your holiday today.

I also feel the urge to lash out at the Devs etc when the game goes down again for another "Hotfix"/Update/Maintenance but thats only because I (like many others, id guess) like the game so much that we feel deprived of one of our favourite hobbies.

Good luck to get it done soon.

    Cheers

and.. what exactly would happen if there was any confirmation of them not being involved? people would just go looking for another scapegoat they can wave around and beat till it's dead.

well this time i'm really worried with it being a holiday weekend. especially a paid holiday weekend for some people. seems like all the down times are on my days off...Monday , Thursday. I was looking forward to playing my game but was forced to clean my car and spend time with my old lady. We all should take the good with the bad I say ...Hats off to the people working on our game today. The money we all spend on the game is still in the game right otherwise there would not be a game. Im sure about the time we all gotta go back to work it will be fixed and there wont be anyone on to run raids with. The weekend auctions will have expired so you will half to re post or sell your stuff to make space. Im just glad I checked the forums instead of messing up my pc trying to figure out why I could not get into the game. Cant wait to play some more ddo with you all most of my timers are up and it will be nice to run all the raids ASAP

This is what you get when the logon server is down. I'm sure they've taken it down for the time being, and this isn't related to the actual problem.
