Smile "Truth", "Loyalty" - Concepts people respect!

You have to ask yourself - "Why do companies hide the truth?" OR "Are they telling the truth and people aren't listening?"

Most times, working in the business of investigating issues, I find that most often it is best to offer feedback along the way as to what the findings are thus far. Troubleshooting is a shot in the dark[ness with magic missle] at times, and sometimes you find the problem is not the problem and you are headed off in the wrong direction. But, my point is, knowing what is being looked at gives people a chance to respond with solutions or probable areas to look at. It takes their minds off of berating and opens up a larger repository of brain power (which the public/clients/customers can be) to solve problems. Think of it as having more CPU/Memory/Data Stores to work with to solve a massive problem. It has already been said that the efforts people have made (e.g., screenshots, tracert data, comments about Pando Booster) have been helpful or at least thought provoking and have allowed Turbine to respond.

I think "truth", "honesty" and "loyalty" go hand-in-hand. It's that "relationship-building" thingy that we are all impressed to do to make work and life easier. Also keep in mind, that you'd rather have loyal clients working to help come up with a solution rather than blasting negative statements all over the forum or social media. Heck, put your customers to work! Give them a task of gathering data to provide you so that you can have more to work with? Consider the customers an extension of your network engineering, systems engineering, and software engineering teams! Use them, and they will respond quickly just to be able to get back to playing the game!

Heck, better they are part of the solution than causing problems and negative PR.

I respect a company that steps out of the box with the truth than holding it back. Holding it back just sets in our conscious mind and eats at us, and remains in the subconscious for later berating (as you have seen this evidence for years)! So, why not try something different!

I'm not happy about waiting on my last holiday day, but I'd rather be part of the solution.

Tell me that what I'm saying is NOT true.

Good luck! And here is hoping that sometime very soon this problem will go away!

Then logically, you would not be able to use DDO after you uninstalled Pando once the initial install was done.

So how is that Pando is at fault standing up now?

This seems a very hard concept for some to comprehend.

The same as to why they cannot outright name other companies having the same issue, or to name/blame the isp company they deal with.

The frustration and annoyance people are feeling is 100% justified. It seems the Americans are having a holiday today. So I'd be doubly annoyed were I them. Default I heard through the grapevine...

Turbine shut down ddo (and apparently LOTRO) in order to fix Paladins, who have been gimped since mod 1. May be another 6-8 weeks before the issue is solved.

Default why many of us are mad

I understand things happen. But things have been happening too much. You can hide behind your eula or take pride in customer service. Your phones are off today. If you were taking the day off then you should have updated your voice mail message. your lack of Q/a in updates is, in my professional opinion, smacking of incompetence. Don't release the product till it is toughly tested. if only 1/2 the job is don't we all know the name for that. To those that thank you for coming in on labor day..bah. They knew the scope of work when that took the job. It work is thankless by nature.
If you want the game not to fail then you need to step it up and show the player that you car with actions. I've put in allot of time and $ supporting your livelihood's. Please redouble your efforts in providing quality service. Currently I feel your failing in his endeavor.

I heard this is the Great Purge.

All Halflings are to be removed from the game.

Routing is now functional, at least for some.

Cordovan, now just get them to turn the auth servers back on.

Frank DeVos So, when did you tell those that rely on Pando? Those that have contracted with Pando
    2 hours ago
    ================================================== ============================================

Sorry to say, but WB and Turbine are responsible for this downtime. PANDO gave notice at least "27 DAYS" prior (By the date(s) shown above) that they were shutting down their services! So, if this was the case, then why in the hell were there no corrective actions taken by WB or Turbine prior to this!!
How could Turbine not have been prepared for replacing one of their vendors after 30+ days of notice?

Default Does it really matter who or where the ball dropped?

I have been reading through the posts as there is nothing much else to do at the moment and I have noticed two things:
    1) There are a lot of trolls and haters of the game yet they still play the game....
    2) No matter if it was Pando, Turbine, terror.ist or other that caused the outage, the players are right for wanting some sort of compensation for the outage.

Now to the things mentioned above, if you play the game don't be a negative troll about it. If you wish to be then leave. Simple as that.

Compensation for the lost time, Perhaps if Turbine is agreeable they should look at the average amount of exp obtained over the time we are down and then give one of them fancy gems for the lost average exp (at your level). The second part would be to cover for the lost gear/money you could have earned. Giving something for that would be great as well.

To the people working to fix the problem I look forward to getting back onto the game but I hope you take the comments of all here to heart and for the future try to anticipate issues like this and how to quickly and properly repair the issues.

I also saw a post about all the FR content being added. I personally like that they are bridging the planes but perhaps it would be a good way to re-build the platform from the ground up so we can avoid the current issues plaguing ddo if they were to do FR as a separate game branch with a shared account status. (Make a whole new game based in FR based on the same game but build the platform with the current devs) If doing that is successful then they could look at overhauling the Ebberon version of the game as well.

    Default Progress is happening.

For the first time today I feel like I might actually get to play before going back to work tomorrow. This is not a gripe. Hats off to everyone at Turbine for just being at work today while we all sit at home and complain about our broken toys. Not saying I'm not angry and frustrated, GET TO WORK (whiplash noise), just saying I'm sure most of the folks at Turbine are equally angry and frustrated at the problem.

    ^This.

Yes, I'd love to get to play on my day off.

I can't, so I'm helping my wife with her programming and math homework, which I'd be doing anyway. I'm also running simulated matches in Fire Pro R on my PS2 for comedy (featuring such created superstars as "Tech Critical Bastard" and "Ultimate Crackhead Warlock").

I'm sure that we'll see at least an extension of the +2 loot bonus, and possibly some bonus XP or a store freebie.

If not, meh. I'll be able to hit things with a big axe soon enough and continue running my TR barbarian. It's not the End of Days.

It's not just PANDO users. I refused to have anything to do with PANDO, and uses STEAM to get my DDO game downloads. There is no PANDO on my PC at all-- I literally blocked their domain.

But I cannot log in either, in Oklahoma. Not since early AM yesterday.
