Not when they do not read nor rage at the proper people.

Like everyone else, I hate that my favorite game is down on a Holiday weekend. I am just mature enough to not get all bent out of shape from some lost time if your a FtP or lost time and lost pocket change if your a subscriber.

We are talking less money here then a cup of coffee. All this nerdrage over about the same amount of money then you can find in your couch.

It is laughable and deserves ridicule.

    Default Laugh at me!

I decided to reinstall yesterday morning after about a year away from the game. Got it all installed and got to the screen that asked me to make Sophie's Choice about which of my characters would be playable until I set up a new subscription. Logged back out to avoid making this choice and tried to log in later last night with new resolve. Got to the loading pre-reqs screen and nothing happened so I figured I had broken my game some how.

Two fresh installs, a half pot of coffee, and some colorful language later I finally decided to do a Google search on the error and found this forum. So I, for one, am amused that my timing was so perfect that I walked right into the biggest nerd-rage inducing event since Ben Affleck as Batman.

As this is my first time actually typing. Read this slow as I type slow!! I really like DDO and have put some expense into it. So all I want to say is THIS GAME IS GREAT111 I look forward to it coming back up and playing. Having no idea the kind of work that goes into this I am not complaining as I couldn't do it. Keep up the great work you guys and get me back on line as now I have to talk to my wife lol.

This. I have been playing DDO since it went f2p, and I was actually VIP for a large portion of that time. To be honest, the only reason I'm not VIP now is because I don't have the money to spare. My main toon is on her seventh life, and I have probably spent as much, if not more, money on this game as all the VIPs out there, so I think I have every right to be irritated by this turn of events. I have no intentions of raging because I know that wouldn't fix the problem any faster, but I will be quietly seething in front of my computer as I play Skyrim/ME3 today.

EDIT: Also, thank you for updating us on the situation, Cordovan. Sort of disappointing that you don't have any information to share yet, but at least you took the time to give us an update and let us know that you guys haven't given up.

Turbine, I don't know how to say this nicely, so I'll just go ahead and say it. This is not a random occurrence. If I remember correctly, this happened about the same time LAST YEAR. I am a paying customer, and have been for FIVE, count them, FIVE YEARS. I'd appreciate some INFORMATION instead of a generic *Working on it.* response. Let us know something, ANYTHING. Hell take the time to type something with a mildly in-depth explanation of the problem. I work as a server at an Olive Garden. It's my job to make sure the guests get their orders in a timely fashion. It's my job to provide excellent customer service. You *As a company* are supposed to provide a service. The service you provide is a bit more complicated than taking an order, but basically the same principles apply. I am a customer. I am paying you for this service. This service is not being provided *at this time*. You are working on fixing this, I understand, BUT you're taking your sweet time. If I were to take more than a minute or two getting a guest a refill, I'd probably lose a bit off the tip. If I did it repeatedly, I'd lose most of my tip. You are not only taking your time getting me my "refill" but you have done this repeatedly. You are losing most of your tip, Turbine. A couple of pointers:
1 - Give us some information that you can't train a monkey to copy and paste.
2 - Rethink your customer service. Actually give your customers an actual customer service phone number, not just account service.
3 - Check and make sure things are working *FOR ALL PLATFORMS* before you let it go live.

Like I said earlier, I understand, sometimes things go wrong. That's why I'm waiting patiently, and writing an actual response rather than just a Nerd Rage, although, if this isn't fixed soon, I probably will have a Nerd Rage.
I think Turbine could do a great deal to curb this Nerd Rage (lol love it) by simply posting an update on the situation with more detail than as you said the generic we are working on it, and it would also help to give us an update on the situation more than once every 12 hours

Heya folks, as you're aware DDO.com and the forums have been up and down lately, and it's impacting our ability to effectively communicate through them. Please make sure to check us out on Twitter and Facebook if the forums aren't working well for the latest information.

We're continuing to investigate - that's the latest word. As soon as there is more information to pass along, we'll do so. Hopefully there'll be news soon - trust me, we want services restored as much as you do.

Finally, I understand that quite a few of you are upset, but lashing out at each other and failing to follow the community guidelines is not helpful. Please!
Have fun, and don't forget to gather for buffs!

    Default Is it too early.....

to start drinking in California. Well I just figured since I got drunk watching my screen just sit there saying "Installing Pre-Req" and passed out only to wake up to hourly updates that look as though they have been copied and pasted, and a screen still stuck on Pre-Req duty. Heck might as well keep a good thing going and start drinking again.

So my plan was to Game, BBQ, and Drink..... As the old song use to say "2 out of 3 ain't bad".........

    Cheers!!!!!

Thx for the update, but could we get some detail? Do you have any idea exactly what the problem is? Any idea how long we may be unable to play?

Default guys lets let them fix it right without being hostile its a game .... an awesome one

so instead lets compile a list of things in game one might need to be compensated for heres an easy one since i had stuff on the auction block how about the base sale price being added to our accounts since the auctions will all be ended before the game is back up and running... a dice roll for the ones we missed and an extension of the +2 chests till saturday or sunday since alot of us weere planning on living on the computer this weekend... since these are things we lost out on for p2p people they could make the subcription price for next month one of their specials and hopefully stimulate new p2p growth..... then they can send our families an email for the grouchyness they had to deal with... these were real effects that we suffered some tp or astral shards would be great or some companion would make my day but lets focus on letting them know what we actually have lost by not being able to acess.... not blame them for our inability to fill a weekend with something other than ddo
