So I'm about to undergo my first TR (as soon as I finish farming the pesky tokens), and I'm thinking the following will be my build for this life (Arti life). I could use some help with fleshing it out a little, and am terrified I may have missed something nasty.
The Arranger, 34 point build Drow
Arti 12 / Ranger 6 / Rogue 2
Rogue 2 - Evasion mainly
Ranger 6 - AA tree, nice synergy with Arti
Abilities: Int 20, Dex 16, Con 14 (bit worried about the Con actually)
Playstyle: Repeater, repeater and more repeater. Because of maxed Drow Int and int levelups from rogue (Mechanic), Drow racial and Arti Arcanotech, this will also be a fairly decent caster, particularly since there are plenty of feats to play with. Backup Manyshot with a bow swap for boss nukes, and in the last resort TWF with rapiers or scimitars.
Skill-wise, you can max out almost everything you want. This build has a ridiculous amount of skill points. On a quick test run, I found I can even fit in Open Lock (maxed) - the DCs have changed in quite alot of content now, so this could be useful. Goes without saying that Trap and Search are amazing.
- Ranger auto feats
- Arti bonus: Point Blank Shot, Construct Essence, Improved Precise Shot
- Others: Toughness, Shot on the Run, Empower Healing? (does this work on repair?), Imp Crit Pierce, after those it's flexible.
Char is built for maximum self-sufficiency as well as being a nice addition to parties with serious ranged DPS.
Enhancement wise, it looks like:
Drow racial - 5 to 11 points, depending
Rogue Mechanic - 8 points (to get Xbow dmg T2 and skill boost)
Arti AT - 11 points (to get Int +1)
Arti BE - 32 points (pretty much everything decent)
Ranger AA - 18 to 24 points, this is flexible (synergies and imbues for double imbue goodness)
Sorry it's not more planned out, but this is the best a newb can do without a new char planner.
