Big thanks! I had no idea what they actually correlated with. At least now I know they aren't completely random...

FIRST THEY ARE TOO LOUD! SERIOUSLY TURBINE. DO YOU EVEN PLAY TEST THIS.

Second, they lack taste. They're more kiddy/kitschy than anything, but what do I know... this from the people that brought you sparkly my little pony sound effects for opening chests.

Ah so they are linked with the xp bonuses - that isn't so bad I guess.

Far better than having the Wheelon DM (who sounds more like a wannabe news reporter) announcing CONQUEST or whatever.

However, I'd love to get the Unreal Tournament announcer to do some DMing.

    Mega Ransack!
    Ultra Conquest!!!

Hell, I'd pay for an announcer conversion of this - ala DOTA2.

Default I don't like them. They do not fit a purpose in the dungeon.

They serve no purposes to me other than random noises that seem to not fit the immersion of the dungeon. If I could put a big red "?" over my characters' head I would every time I heard one of these noises. The breaking of barrels and doors is another one I hear, yet no one in the party is doing this. This is new and cool sounding but way over done.

I like to think they are monsters having a party somewhere else in the dungeon and are having Lion fights with betting going on and are also breaking stuff because the party is going so well.

Either that or the entire Planet that this game takes place on is telling us it is about to explode and these are just the warning sounds.

We like to get inside the heads of our characters and when us, "the users",

hear something that does fit the environment we are in and is so repetitive to the point of it to unjustly annoy(s) even though the devs thought it was cool and just it is unjust and is over done. Thus then it breaks that immersion of this experience. It is in essence calling our bluff in this game and breaking our concentration in a gaming experience expected of a game such as this.
The standards for a game such as this has and needs to be at higher level than a video game and other games similiar to it. It is more than a video game and the bar is lowered on this one. It needs work, indeed to mesh well and serve us better. The game, 'Thief', does this very well if anyone else has ever played it and can relate.

I like them, especially for certain quests where the optionals are desired. If anything, add a toggle for those who are scared of the mean noises or can't adjust their sound... ;-)

I'd rather they scrap the changing weapons/gear sounds...

I agree, they are too loud and unnecessary. I would love to see a option to turn them off as well.

I'd like to know what you dislike, specifically, about the "stapler of doom" sound...

Would be nice to have either a toggle or slider to shut off completely or adjust the volume.
This is all we need for them.

Some like them, some don't. Give the players the option to deal with them as they see fit.

It's totally true, I have a reliable source. You better reroll now.

I like them. But the volume is entirely too loud. The secret door audio cue is the sound of a door opening.

    Cool

Guess this is one of those situations where being deaf is a benefit. (Other similar situations: not being able to hear the mother-in-law, watching Miley Cyrus do her grind without having to actually hear her sing, etc...)

Agreed. Way too loud. If I turn down the volume so they don't jar me out of my seat, I can't hear anything else.

    Please fix, Turbine? Please?

I have to agree with the folks who think this was just an odd addition to the game, but since most of the time I play with no sound so I can have a prayer of hearing people whispering on voice chat (the native voice chat for this game is kinda awful and rarely works properly for me no matter what I try with my settings) I can't say it's irritating. But I'm always an advocate of choice, and I think the slider idea is an elegant compromise between those irritated and those amused.

But while people are calling for a volume fix, can we get the quest bestowed ding sound of VONS 5 turned down? I'm going to go deaf from forgetting to take my headset off as I take the quest...
