Default Stormhorn map - thanks to wmdearmond. but NO THANKS TO WB AND TURBINE

First, thanks for the great map to player wmdearmond.
    Read here first: https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...Stormhorns-Map

From what I can see, the free teleport places don't really help you at all! I wasted about 60min finding the first 2 WITH the helpful map and the poster who described where they are. God help us all.

You still need to pay to go directly to the quests. The free ones only get you close to one or two of the quests.

I too have serious buyer remorse now. Like the king forest quests, I will run them once or twice and call it a day.

I will also urge anyone who will listen, that unless they belong to the minority of players who LIKE running forever to quests, or whom want to pay real money to play a quest they ALREADY BOUGHT, NOT TO BUY THIS.

They should AT LEAST add the quest entrances too to the teleport guy, once you found them the first time. I don't mind running once. I don't even mind PAYING once. But every goddang time I want to play, I need to change my dinner plans, schedule with my wife to put off XYZ till later because they added so much nudge factor, FOR SOMETHING I ALREADY PAYED FOR??? (THREE TIMES!! for my kids too.) Or pay for access AGAIN? Not all of us HAVE so much free time to waste GETTING to the fun.

Gosh I feel so STUPID for falling for this AGAIN. Kings Forrest the Underdark and the stupid multiple map possibility of the deamonweb, should have been warning enough.

And becasue of all the impassible passes, it's actually FAR bigger even than it looks.

You want your customers to be able to go right into your quests and play them. Without charging them a non platinum currency toll every time. The explorer can still be explored if you so desire, but I have a feeling more players would like to just instantly go to the quest entrance and play.

the camps get you close to the quests. it takes like less then 2 minutes to run to break in the ice, what goes up, and breaking the ranks from the North camp. and the trackers trap takes about that to reach from the entrance. and lines of supply takes maybe 3 minutes to get to from the entrance.

This is actually far less then it takes to get to some quests in teh game, Like cannith quests (basically gated by requiring to kill groups of mobs to unlock gates) restless ilse (even worse then cannith), even with teleports GH has some quests that take awhile to get to. Kings forest got the unquite graves (lost thread can be gotten to fast by the camp in the south. and impossible demands can be gotten to easily from the entrance), Sschin has house of broken chains which maybe takes 3 minutes to get to, the other two take alot less time to get to. the underdark only has 1 quest in it, and that can be gotten to in like 10sec from the camp. demon web may take abit to get around to. but overall it isnt the worse contender unless you dont know where to go.

overall they're not that far once you get the teleport (really only need the N one for the higher quests) and that can be gotten by simply diyng and having someone take your stone to it and raising ya.

When in the history of DDO has this ever happened? You want a different game. Google MMO GRINDFEST. You'll find many games catered to your playstyle.

Umm, Isn't there a teleportation supposed to happen when you join a lfm, but it is not working, or something? I'm sure the history of DDO it matters here- no, not rly- but, the future could use ease of access.

The newer wilderness area are no worse than Gianthold or Vale, IMO, once you have the key to eveningstar. Demonweb is a bit more annoying to me, but eventually got used to it.

Sure it's nice to be able to just pop over to a quest quickly, but it really doesn't take so long that it's worth paying real money. (To me.) The only things I can think of that I *might* pay shards to get to are the Cannith raids.

Lines of Supply is less than 1 minute from the southwest camp for those who find 3 minute runs arduous

I'm sure there's still at least one person around crying for flying pigs or something to take them there who still won't be satisfied with this

IIRC - Yes, there indeed was a option for this at one point but it was disabled because it didn't work or was suspected of creating lag. I can't seem to find anything on it now with the forums FUBAR'ed (more so than normal)

Yes, there is very little replay value in the new pack. All but a couple of items are worthless, the quests give too little XP for the level, it takes too long to get to said quests without paying real life money. The explorer area is too large to really farm chests (High Road is still better for most random items/tomes) over loot weekends like this weekend.

As a side note on the Stormhorn quests, ran them on EE last night - Red Alert/Very High mob density is not fun. It frustrating and get old very fast. The only difficulty is trying to fight through the lag it creates. In two of them a soon as combat starts within moments the DA is red and you can't move. The end fight on What Goes Up was just plain silly-stupid. We methodically cleared all the way up, killing everything and taking our time but as soon as we stepped on the platform, BING - RED ALERT! Literally 3 steps in and everything froze. It's not difficult when you can't move because of being slowed and the lag DA causes..It's a great quest up until that point, then it just becomes stupid. (also note that the end guy bugged out on us last night when this happened. So other things may have been at play behind the scenes)

    Default Real Money ?

I have never paid real money for Astral Shards, just sell loot on the Shard Auction house , I don't understand ppl complaining about paying shards to get to quest or to re-roll loot, I needed something to spend my shards on . I like the idea of being able to just tele to quest entrance .

the mob lag on EE sux though.

This. Turbine has a done a pretty good job with explorer areas. Most of them do not require you to run a lot to get the quests... Sands is one exception that proves the rule.

Demonweb by the way you can just drop off the side a few times until you end up close to the quest you want.

Whether you bought shards or not, they do indeed reflect real world currency as someone had to buy them. Sure you can get a few here and there but not enough to make a difference. The fact that many people don't relate them to real money is exactly the reason it's so successful. It's the same psychological trick that casino's use with player cheques (commonly known as "chips" to most people).

You make no sense to me. You come here with your horrible design decisions that can be found in other games. Here's a clue, people play DDO because they like the way it is designed. If they liked the way other games are designed, they'd play them. It takes a... special kind of person to not switch to game where they like the design decisions. It is incredibly childish and selfish of you to say forget everyone else and let's make this game the way I WANT it to be, when you can just leave and play a different game. Don't you realize if your horrible design decisions were implemented here, it would just be like every other game, and then we'd have no place to go?

Look at the harbor map, see how you get the quest then step into the entrance? When I started playing ddo that was a big difference from other games. To use your own argument your explorer zones have killed that difference and made the game more into wow where I have to walk to every dungeon thru a large explorer zone. So now I have no place to play.

Ridiculous. You have a million places to play. Someone mentioned NWO up above. They even provide you with a sparkling trail. It's quite clear you will be much happier there.

Or perhaps you would be much happier if you kept it to yourself and played the way you like?
