Not really. Mainly it lets you skip Extra Action Boost, freeing up a twist slot. I'd probably replace it with +6 reflex saves from magister or +6 trap skills from shadowdancer. (Or +6 tactics from LD if you went with dire charge.)

I'm not entirely sure I follow. This is a melee build, so if you're asking if it works with repeaters, no, not really.

    Default TWF and Dex

Sorry to comment on an old thread but I have what is probably a very newb question. The build calls for "racing" to TWF by level 3. TWF needs DEX 15 and the build only has DEX 14. So I'm very confused here!?

Ranger get's TWF feat at level 2 even if the prerequisite is not met.

Sorry for the post res, but this newb isn't seeing how to get weapon finesse on the elf build? Or at least the game is not showing dex as attack and damage mod even after taking improved weapon finesse.

EDIT: NM, I found it - Tempest core ability DUH!

Yep. There haven't been any significant changes to ranger since I last updated the build.

If you define 'viable' in terms of the mechanics working as intended, it's still viable.

It's probably not ideal though - due to power creep and additional options. Just working off the basic notion of the build - trapping on a TWF Ranger build - you could probably get away with as few as 6 levels of Ranger if you're using Daggers. This wouldn't have been possible when the build was originally constructed (without losing some important features).

Knight's Training buffs a bunch of different weapon types which have previously been considered subpar vs khopesh:
These weapons receive one of the following morale bonuses in your hands.

Long Sword critical multiplier is increased by 1.
Battle Axe's critical threat range is increased by 1. Increased by 2 if you have Improved Critical: Slashing.
Heavy Maces, Morningstars & War Hammers critical threat range is increased by 1.
For the F2P newbie, the upside here is that weapon gearing becomes easier when you have a range of options rather than being confined to one (i.e., khopesh). E.g., anyone can farm ARoaSP at level 9 for a pair of Nightforge Blades or NF Hammers which become 15-20/x3 and 18-20/x4 respectively with Knights Training + relevant Improved Crit feat. And for the more veteran player, it improves various named weapons which otherwise had mediocre critical threat ranges. You could even take both Improved Critical feats and khopesh proficiency if you really wanted to max out your weapon versatility. Just remember you have to choose between Headman's Chop or Pulverizer in LD; you can't take both and still have Blitz.

BTW the Concentration skill also just got a major buff so it might actually be useful now: "The DC check now only uses 1/10th of the incoming damage to increase its DC." However this build is skill-point-constrained so I didn't take Concentration, putting leftover pts into Heal instead.
