Default Petition for Astral Shard Lock

With all of the new Astral Shard items added to the game, there are a variety of ways to accidentally click on something and spend my Astral Shards with no confirmation. I know that some people don't like confirmations on things, so I propose an addition to the Settings to toggle a confirmation on all Astral Shard spending.

Reading and patience prevents accidental clicks.

It's totally true, I have a reliable source. You better reroll now.

I'm sure that key would have had a better mutation if you re-rolled it.

I'm glad to hear that you are perfect but games have confirmations for those of us who are not. And since I propose a toggle you would be free to not use it.

I haven't even come close to a mis-click but I am concerned about it.

Seriously?? so UI/UX design or usability are fool inventions to make new professions, nothing to do with psychology and the way the user (us) communicate with the interface (the game); fortunately, the rest of the world think of ways to get a better experience of interfaces.

I just imagine an air traffic controller that tells your phrase to a pilot with problems in her cabin XD

If they agree to something like this, then it will mean that it wasn't their intention to have people spend AS accidentally.

    If not...

But muscle memory and habits tend to over ride. This is a game not instructions on assembling a bbq grill.

There's a basic principle about good system design that promotes "error prevention". Without creating anything unnecessarily complex, if you can easily introduce something that makes mistakes much more difficult, then you do it.

There are thousands of simple examples that you will have come across already where this could have been done, hasn't been done and you ask yourself 'that's moronic' - like an input field for a password that allows you to type in 10 characters and then tells you that passwords are a maximum of 7 characters.

Regardless of the user's reading skills, familiarity with the interface, years of reflex reactions or patience, as a system designer this one is a no brainer.

I can read and do so quite frequently. I even stop by to read the forums for ideas on game play and character builds. But guess what, my happy trigger finger clicked the Astral Shard Re-Roll TWO TIMES last night. Did I read it? Yes, but not until it was too late. Please don't tell me to read and be patient. When playing this game everyone should be protected against things like this. What if it were a click to spend a dollar to do XY or Z and you were not warned. The credit card companies would be shutting down DDO as fast as can be. Even when I make Bank transactions I get a warning. I know better now and I will be watching out but I feel uncomfortable when things like that can happen.

If I remember correctly they placed this new reroll button where the Loot all button used to be. thus promoting a misclick spending of real dollars in the form of astral shards. Any time they are using astral shards as a payment in game there should be a warning. including in the Shard exchange.

I'd much rather people suffer from not utilizing that skill than be personally inconvenienced. Heck, that's the only way they'll learn.
Since it is obvious that all people need to be able to read to play this game your point is moot.

The changes should have been posted more clearly for people who do not read the forums (yet still have that reading skill we all need to even play this game) That said, I would not rather that people suffered, ever, at all. There should be a buffer. If people then click through that well then that is their problem.

Sigh, the game does not work the way you think it does. Turbine makes $0 based on a misclick.
