Default Druid animal form- Reaving Roar nerfed to the ground

It used to do 15d6 sonic on a kill. Now it does 5d6. Why? Why? WHY!!!!!!! I dropped this like a hot potato and took fatal harrier instead. Very disappointed, devs.

How about 5d6 at first and then scale it higher? Otherwise, you have taken away the best reason to be in animal form, and there aren't many of them to being with, believe me.

Well, the third tier of it does 9d6, but this is still an unacceptable nerf, in my opinion. I agree with you that this ability was fine as it was. I disagree about it being the only reason to be in animal form, but that is my opinion as I like the different feel of combat while in animal form and the other spells and abilities you get.

It's not just your Druid my aa archer has been nurfed to worthlessness. I want my slaying arrows back the way they where. I also want my dex back. Under the old system I could take more dex in the enhancements. In this new system I lose 6 points from the get go. No way to make that up. Thank you for forcing me to stop playing my aa ranger.

ya I agree I heard the reaving roar nerf was coming even though it really was only over powered at low to mid level at high level the damage it did was decent but not too far outside the norm of what most other classes were doing.
and I agree that was a primary reason to be animal form at least for me as well. there are some other benifits but nothing that is good enough for me to stay animal.

Funny, the AA's I have been running with grew in power. They now have far higher sustainable DPS.

You might want to get out of the box you have been playing inside of.

It's totally true, I have a reliable source. You better reroll now.

False. Learn to build, or wait for someone to give you one. AAs got buffed.

As for the RR nerf, it sucks, and was the bread and butter of both animal forms and casters while leveling. If the problem was casters using it, then they should have tied it to animal form instead of nerfing the whole thing. Makes no sense.

    Reaving roar went from 13d6
    to 9d6.

not exactly a nerf into the ground.

It's a change from everything around you dies to everything around you doesn't die. It's a huge nerf.

Fatal Harrier is also not worth taking anymore. 8s may be fine when your killing kobolds, but in real content you need a little more time to keep the kill chain going, at least us bad players do...

Apparently someone really didn't like Druids, they are almost as overpowered as paladins.

It was OP on casters, but not melee druids who are already the weakest melee toons in the game.

It was OP at level 7. Not level 15+.

Yeah maybe not into the ground. Except now it costs more AP than it did before and is still significantly weaker.

Lol this is funny. Melee druids are still casters. My wolf druid is spaming spells while on approach to any enemy. Sometimes I didn't even bother meleeing. Frost breath (or any other spell, and some innate attack spells, +6(w) attack anyone?) into reaving roar and everything around you is dead, you didn't even stop to fight, just do it as you run past. If you are trying to play your melee druid as a fighter, then yeah, it's weak. Why? Because it isn't a fighter, it's a druid. Want to see weak melee, see paladin, it is leagues behind a melee druid.

That being said, the RR nerf sucks.

How are you losing 6 pts? In the old system you could get +3 DEX from rgr or rog enhs and +2 from racials if elf/drow/halfling. Where was the last pt coming from?

The problem isn't just that RR & FH got nerfed; it's also that Nature Warriors didn't get much in the way of useful buffs or new goodies, AFAICT. Not unless Alpha Strike is way more awesome than it looks like. The Doublestrike action boost is nice (or at least better than nothing) and I suppose Dodge bonuses are good if you plan to invest in it. But compared to all the SLAs that Season's Heralds got, NWs got the shaft. At the very least, they should've turned animal-form abilities into SLAs, so they could be meta-ed for free.

Because it was ridiculously overpowered? At least at low levels... I remember at around level 10 running a quest with a druid and he was a walking nuclear weapon. I do agree that having it scale by level would make more sense than trying to pick a flat number.. but then there are many spells that also don't really scale by level, or have maximums.

I agree, I just feel constrained to point out that people who pick from NW can also still get the SLAs from SH... it is no longer an either or thing. A lot of people I have talked to aren't really taking that into account (with most class's trees, not just druid). I know for sure you can get some pretty nice stuff going from multiple trees in a class.

Hey do we know if RR is effected by spell power currently? If it is, then it can still be pretty powerful and the change makes sense.... here is to hoping. (I wouldn't even begin to know how to test to see if spellpower is effecting something.)
