    Default Double Weapons!

"A character can fight with both ends of a double weapon as if fighting with two weapons, but he or she incurs all the normal attack penalties associated with two-weapon combat, just as though the character were wielding a one-handed weapon and a light weapon"

Currently, quarterstaffs are the only weapon in DDO that can benefit with this feat, so i would also drop the idea of introducing new weapon types ingame, like Double axes, Polearms (Sireth and Rahl's Might might fall in this category) and such. Its been so long and i think that this game would largely benefit with new kinds of weapon types, new battle animations (specially for monks) and updating how certain feats work (like triple'ing the saves bonus feats, for example... that would make me consider taking Lightning Reflexes)

So... the thing that made me consider adding this feat to the game and quartersaffs is how i picture myself weilding a staff for a fight, using both ends to try and land hits on my oponent, rather than just using one end of it... i dont know about you, but i wouldnt think that someone specialist in quarterstaff fighting would weild it the same way anyone would weild a great axe...

I supose it would be something like "Ho! Ha ha! Guard! Turn! Parry! Dodge! Spin! Ha! Thrust! Sproing!"

    ... that would be nice

Just keep in mind you can only apply Two-Weapon OR Two-Handed bonuses to a Double Weapon. In PnP, you can simply declare each round which you intend- to add Double Weapon functionality to DDO would require establishing a Double Weapon stance; Eg: (While active, your Double Weapons benefit from Two-Weapon fighting bonuses, but no longer are able to make glancing blows) .

Not that it wouldn't be fun, but I'd rather they add functionality to existing items (bludgeoning, non-shuriken throwers, great xbows, etc) that are lacking both in effectiveness and quantity.

Never mind that Spears would need to finally properly have their own category, rather than clinging off of Quarterstaves, before we add functionality to Quarterstaves that Spears likely shouldn't benefit from.

The addition of Double Weapons would add a nice dimension to half-orcs, whom specialize in them, however.

This has come up before. Unfortunately, the answer seems to be “We’re too lazy to do this”. (Just helping to manage your expectations here.)

Just make the base TWF/THF feats into a toggle like Power Attack or the monk stances. You should also be able to hold two weapons and use a single weapon fighting style.
Things that if Turbine went all EXTREME PREJUDICE™ on, would actually make the game fun again.:
    • Giving us the racial PrE’s we were promised, before rolling out DDOStore™ Enhancement Trees.
    • One loot system to rule them all. (Including Cannith Crafting, and Named Loot.)
    • Fixing the Cannith Challenges so that they can be 6 starred without incredible luck or store bought items.
    • Adjusting Challenge XP so that they're worth running more than once.
