    GrandMaster Scourge - Palemaster AoV Shiradi
    This is my survivalist (translate... dump DC casting) take on a palemaster shiradi. If you are on Thelanis and pug EE's, Shammuh has probably ran with you.

    The concept of this build is a highly survivable toon with high saves, evsion, good melee avoidance and sustainable dps. This build can be done on a first life even without tomes (although more build points and tomes obviously help).

    Warforge 16 Wiz/2 Monk/2 FVS
    2 Monk provides nice class saves, movement speed, dodge, evasion, 2 extra feats and the Henshin mystic core 1.
    2 FVS provides mana procs, crit chance, spell power and some nice class saves.
    Alignment: Lawful Good or Lawful Neutral

    Starting stats:
    Max Int
    Enough into dex so that your tome (if any) will get you to 13.
    Rest into con.

    Level ups
    Enough into con to reach 21 after the tome points (if any).
    Rest into int.

    With a 36 point build and +3 tomes, you can max int/con and put all levelups into int.

    I switched to int for levelups not because I suddenly care about DCs, but because I gravitated towards being reflex save freak. From a survival standpoint, more reflex seemed to help more than a small increase in hitpoints.

    AP Highlights:
    • Wraith form: Immunities and extra melee avoidance. I like the constant regen, and neg energy burst has been enough of an emergency heal. By being warfoged, I always have the option to drop wraith form if there is too much light damage being thrown around.
    • Arcane supremacy: For me, this is a must. It somewhat reliable to fire every time I wait just a bit and then start spamming... AKA, boss/end fights. I don't mind the random nature and I love the big numbers. It was a big help leveling in heroics, and it allowed me to do very well in EE kill counts even when I'm not in shiradi.
    • Ninja Spy and the warforged points: Both of these trees don't help my spell power. I put one point in warforgd in case I'm outside wraith form (very very rare). 25% incorp is better than 3% more dodge, EK takes care of arcane spell failure. I have been very happy with this shift.
    • What is optional?: For this build, not much... AP is tight. 21 is the minimum to get wraith form, 32 is the minimum to get arcane supremecy, 10 is the minum to get mana procs and both FVS criticals. That leaves 17 to toy with. The one point in henshin mystic is a great buy, and 6 points in EK to remove arcane spell failure is a better deal than spending the points in warforged.

    Lots of ways to do this, this is just how I did it

    Twists
    I almost always use the following twists
    Energy Burst, Boulder Toss, Unearthly reactions.
    For FOT raids, I sometimes swap out unearthly reactions for electric damage shield from draconic

    Build Highlights from previous life:
    • Solo cleared EE study in sable to the end boss 2nd time I ever ran it. First time was solo EH run
    • Tanked EH Lord of blades
    • Many many EE groups, always in the top half for kill count

    Nothing really video worthy yet, but I have ran it enough to say it is a very solid build.

    THE EAT CROW SECTION
    Here are things I've changed my mind on since my original build post:
    • Epic Reflex - When I read CDRs post that chose this feat, I thought he was nuts... Once I did that, every time I died rolling a 1... I realized how right he was.
    • Hellball/Ruin - My original post picked these feats, but tetween the shiradi pew pew and NovaSoul style twist offense... why would I spend 100 sp on that?
    • Toss Boulder - I actually posted telling someone there was no need to twist this in a shiradi. I was wrong... I championed toss boulder in the NovaSoul build, I should have known I was wrong. Here is why it is a good twist: 1.) It is nice to have burst DPS 2.) The build goes crazy for impulse spell power and kinetic crit chance... Boulders LOVE that. 3.) You don't have to be in EE mode all the time. A lot of time is spent just doing exp runs in easier content. For that content, having more fire power is good. Energy burst + boulder toss + arcane supremecy is silly fun. 4.) It works in EE? This may not make sense, but when I wasn't in shiradi, this build was powerful enough to jump into the middle of a bunch of EE mobs to take (and survive) the alpha attack, spam chain missle to trigger arcane supremacy and then energy burst/boulder toss to clear most of them. I had several melee toons waiting for the kamakazi wizard to be the first to charge into some crowded rooms.
    • Levelups to int - For a long time, I was a fan of level points to con. The extra reflex save and sp helps survival... and yeah, I suppose higher DC isn't a bad thing.

    Looks interesting, thanks for posting it.

    Why 12 base DEX though? With your +3 tome you have 15 DEX but only need 13 for dodge. Why not up base WIS a bit instead or is there a point to that extra DEX that I am overlooking?

    Also, does Stay Frosty do anything at all? If not why not simply take +2 str which does do something even if very little?

    I gave this a shot tonight (with 2 FvS) on my WF Wiz that was already 2 monk, and it worked quite well. The combination of wraith, displace, and 25% dodge was crazy effective at damage mitigation. I went the Arcane Supremacy route, and the damage from Shiradi procs was crazy.

    Just a very minor correct, Insightful Reflexes is not a wizard feat so it should be switch with one of the Meta magics in the general feats list for building purposes.

    Also I felt the Heshin Mystec first core ability was worth picking up as its 1AP for +5 force and +5 fire spell power. (I think I dropped some of the repair amp to get that and something else)

    Wis = 6 (base) + 3 (tome) + 2 (ship) + 4 Ocean Stance + 7 (equipment) = 22
    Cha = 6 (base) + 3 (tome) + 2 (ship) + 6 equipment = (17)
    • 36 point build shown. For less points drop con, base dex + tomes needs to meet the 13 dex requirement for dodge.

    I don't have a gear set yet. My gear on the test server is utter garbage, but the build still played very well.

    Saves
    The saves are surprisingly good. Grandmaster ocean stance gives +5 to all saves and shores up the only weak save stat (wisdom). Monk and FVS classes both have good saves. The FVS enhancements give +2 saves vs spells. Using dojo test gear, I was able to get both my reflex and fortitude save over 50 with will save not too far behind.

    So what does it all add up too?
    Warforged/Undead has great fortification and provides two options for self healing. High conceal/dodge/incorp provides great defense against physical attacks. Mana proc's give great staying power to spam force pew pew. The class combo gives high spell power and crit rate. You can see it run through a few fights here:

    Thanks! My build was on the test server, and they shut it down very quickly once the enhancements hit. I will make the adjustments.

    I think it could work. My initial plan was to go with a human. I encountered issues with light damage, but there are plenty of PMs who can work through that without dropping out of form.

    Hi Ancient,

    I have one of your builds pre-u19 (Novasoul), love it.

    I also have a Elf PM Wiz that was on the drawer for a while since the big nerfs to DC Casting, but after reading your thread, I got an idea of "reviving" it with the +20 heart.

    I don't have Monk, and I really like the idea of trying AA (since I'm elf). Do you think the following would work, or is it too thin?

    Elf - 16 Wiz / 2 Rogue / 2 Fvs

    18 dex / 14 con / 16 int / 10 str (all lvl ups in dex or con? not sure)

    Pros:

    - Very flexible / do it all / soloable
    - Good for the poor (only Fvs is paid but can be unlocked with favor)
    - Can do traps
    - Evasion
    - Runs in Wraith Form with 25% concealment
    - Self Healing
    - Can easily max dodge
    - Very good reflex from high dex
    - Mana free damage with Manyshot
    - Low cost casting Magic Missiles with Just Reward


    Cons:

    - Can't really reach any tier 5 on enhancements
    - Won't be best at anything
    - Not very high HP

    Thanks Ancient for the build, and the idea. I've been looking it over for my pure pre-U19 Evo AM WF Shiradi Wiz.

    I'm actually thinking of going Wiz 17/FvS 2/Monk 1. Those mana-procs look nice in a chain-spam build. I've lived without evasion. Whe I die soloing it is usually not because of reflex spells (my main nemesis is stunning or will-spells).

    I'm not a fan of the Wraith form because of the slow burst heals, but it might be worth a try. It will make me immune to the aforementioned Stuns and Will spells.

    I updated the main build post with my latest version.

    While I learned a lot from CDRs excellent build post, I still like wraith form and arcane supremacy. I made a few different choices to balance between defense from feats and defense from AP, but even with the different choices... there are lots of similarities in the builds.

    I don't cover things that are in CDRs thread because he did a good job, and it makes sense to have one spot to send people to learn about those things. If there is something that is missing from my post, please let me know and I'll add it.

    Having a blast with this toon, and it is fun to feel like a little bit of NovaSoul survived into the next life

    As an update, I took the NovaSoul style twist into an EE von 1 group at level 21/22 (I forget which I was at the time) last night. They had problems with the last shrine and decided to ddoor out during the first wave. I figured it wasn't technically zerging if I didn't retreat... so I stayed and cleared till they came back during the final wave.

    I may try to see if I can get EE level saves without dedicating all three twists. Does anyone have a general recommendation on what are some good target saves for high level EE?
