So no, I don't think DC casters are incapable of seriously contributing to EE's; I just think it's a lot of work in build, gear, and game knowledge to do so. That's the problem, is that if someone is lacking in any one of these three, their DC caster will fall behind everyone else.
Advocating repeated nerfs in the name of "balancing the game" then complaining about how DDO is moving away from D&D, is a direct contradiction in logic - D&D 3.5 (what DDO is based on) is not a balanced game. We can either have a balanced clone MMO with homogenized classes, or we can have a D&D game. We cant have both.
There were many solutions to the AC problem at the time of that change that did not include scrapping a central and iconic part of the D&D brand. Sadly, the devs went another way.
d20 is an integral and iconic part of D&D. Yes, this makes it different from other MMORPGs, and will sometimes necessitate other kinds of solutions than you would see in wow-clones. This is not a bad thing.
If they keep taking away D&D so we're not playing DDO but just "O", what's the point of having a game with the DDO name?
