So I was running Threnal chain on my third lifer the other day and mostly cruising through it with little healing. Then I ran into the ice flencer ambush, and very suddenly my health dropped to about 30 from 339. This took me by surprise, but I figured something strange happened and managed to pop US to get back to full. Then about 3 seconds later I was again back to about 10%?!?!? So I popped LOH, and 2 seconds later I was at -155! So I HAD to know what did that much damage and as I check the log I was getting hit with polar ray. In a level 9 quest! This is the premier direct damage spell in the game, it has no save and no SR, unless you can FPS skills dodge it (good luck at pt blank range fighting multiple guys) you WILL take full damage. Who decided this was reasonable for a level 9 quest?
Now, to be fair, knowing what just happened I went back, re-ran it, and curb-stomped the ice demons, but I'm a 3rd life toon with good HP, decent DPS, good saves with reasonable skill level.. I still find it highly unreasonable that mobs in a level 9 quest are throwing non-resistible 200pt DPS spells, and that such mobs appear in groups of 3.
