Default Dear QuartermasterX Do these Otto's Boxes work like the old ones?

In other words, do xp boosts increase the xp gained from the Otto's Boxes?

    Thank you

What was the impetus behind re-releasing them in the "broken/bugged" fashion?

Maybe the FACT that the Devs have promised time and again since Bigby's Box came out that OTTO'S WOULD STILL BE AVAILABLE, WOULD NOT CHANGE

    AND

    WOULD BE RELEASED IN FUTURE!

    and

I want to know the reason behind the why. Is it cause they have a "our mistake, keep it as is" feeling about it, or is it because of all the ranting and raging. If the latter, is that a viable way to have change introduced to the game.

And before I get accused of having a problem with these boxes, I don't. I'll never use them, but that's because I'll never use the TR or ED systems so I don't see the point for me. For the folks who see the value in them, buy as many as you need to make your playtime enjoyable.

Because spending money recoding and fixing something only to release it and have it sell less units due to said "fixes" makes no logical sense whatsoever.

They need to drop the price of Bigby's then by another 25% or so, because you'd have to be crazy to buy them in the future if you know that Otto's will still be around and un-nerfed.

or they could officially say it was not WAI, people panic making existing Ottos even more valuable than they were before, people buying up Ottos now in case this could be the last ones and drive profits up. this is an easy sure fire way to make money and spike the quarterlies making things look good on the books. its a brilliant strategy on Turbines part.

Yes they played on the ambiguity of what was WAI vs. what was not, like a boss.

    Easy Answer :
Store KPIs showed that the Bigby Box didn't sell much compared to the Otto Box despite a lower cost, and especially once it was widely known that the stone wasn't working as before the sale number dropped dramatically.

Turbine reaction to that : Release the box that sells a lot.

It's all about money and profit margin. the Bigby's Box wasn't making a big enough profit, the Otto box, while being more expensive sells more as such it gives a better profit.
It's all End of the Month Excel Math in the Profit Column.
