Going back and rereading some of my previous posts and posts made by some of the other long-term players of the game (not naming any names or anything ). I can't help but wonder why some of us are still sticking around, or even more importantly why we keep coming back. Here are my top 3 reasons why ...
#3 I really haven't found anything better yet. I mean there are tons of "shinnies" out there, but the variation of builds combined with the psuedo-D&D atmosphere always appealed to me. And while yes there are other games that carry the D&D name or logo, they are even MORE grindy and WOW like than this is or ever will be.
#2 I have a tendency to stick with what I know. Even with the ever changing mechanics and environment, for the most part, I can find my way around, build a some-what self-sufficient character and pass on a few pieces of information that have still held true since launch.
#1 I guess somewhere in my heart of hearts, it's home. And although it's true "you can never go home again" I still hold out the hope that someone over at Turbine will pull their head from rectum and try and bring the game back to what it was supposed to be from the start (a D&D inspired MMO - even if it was the 'Eberron' setting). And those that are still hanging around from 'back-in-the-day' I still consider my friends and peers, kind of like those cousins I hardly ever speak to.
So, why are some of you still hanging around?
