Some of them are. Honestly, they should go play Cryptic games if they want to get their nuts in a knot.

As a developer myself, I can certainly understand why it pretty much has dropped like a rock.

And I don't fault them at all, even if I agree with everyone that it sucks.

    Savanna Tressym
    Tuxedo Tressym

No clue whatsoever what the pseudodragon is like. Not even sure anyone has found one yet.
I think we have been seeing a quite a lot of the pseudodragons in game already. Don't you get one with the special edition of the Xpack too?

Most likely that is the one you are seeing.

The tressyms are freaky yucky and pets are stupid.

That's just my opinion, though, and I understand that others have different ones.

If you buy a random box - or pets of all things - with money...wow.

    Blach!

Anyways...what would motivate Turbine to make sure you got all your pets in 6 buys? Nothing. They want your money. Keep rolling the dice and getting those disgusting cat-things.

I absolutely believe that many forum users believe the "turbine hired the Zynga guy to turn the game into Farmville" nonsense. More than a few have posted this garbage numerous times, out of anger and not in jest, as well as all sorts of ridiculous conspiracies and fantasies that make The Bigfoot Elders of Flatearth Zion seem credible.

It's the internet. Where you get to see how crazy and disturbed people actually are. Some things you can't unsee bro.

    It's 50:50 imo

    For half it's a joke.

For the other half the p2w that has crept into ddo makes Turbine the joke.

Wait, are you implying devs are actually spending their time WORKING rather than caring and sharing in the forums? Impossible!

Besides the forum poltergeists told me all the devs got laid off last year after DDO died and all the players quit.

No matter how many times customers provide feedback that they do not like lottery style game mechanics, MMO companies will continue to come out with new ones in their games.

I would rather support the game with an increase of price to new VIP players on the monthly rates, or some cross the board moderately increasing prices...after all a the new bling is to attract new players.

As long as they keep making money from it right?

How do you know a product is a goldmine?

When people say they don't like it and yet still they buy it.

Impulse addiction based marketing. Part of the new monetization model in MMOs is having containers drop as loot that you need a store bought key to open. The boxes contain one item on the list, which is compiled of one or two really nice items, and a bunch of garbage. The only way to get the one or two nice items is from these boxes. People mostly get the garbage when they open the boxes, so they have to open more than a few of them to get one of the nice items.

Where do you draw the line on the "it makes money, so its ok" justification?

    This is never a justification.

Considering what you describe is entirely voluntary and you don't ever have to open a box full of cosmetic items, I don't see the problem with it at all.
